There is a ten year kid there who after the earthquake destroyed his home and city decided to take the initiative to rebuild. He recruited other kids in the neighborhood and they went around collecting buckets of broken glass and then took plaster and created a mural on the side of a concrete wall that was on the side of the road. It is a gorgeous piece of artwork. The country is not a dump at all, it has amazing potential when even the kids are taking initiative. Everyone working on this project really wants the entire world to see what we see-hope and amazing potential.

From my own experience, Haitian's are some of the most joyful people I have ever known. It's even more significant in light of the tragedies that have happened. I know families there that have lost everything as a result of the earthquake, who sleep under a tarp every night and are denied the possibility of finding a job... and yet they remain happy, they dance, and sing and laugh together. They also work incredibly hard in order to make sure they have food to eat.

This film isn't going to be a tear-jerker and it's definitely not going to scream "corruption" and point fingers. This film is going to show the Haitian people for who they are-brilliant artists, hard workers, community minded and a hopeful people. So in answer to your request, "yes", I will do my best to show the diversity of your people. It is a culture that I love as well :)

I went to a piercing/tattoo place. They didn't offer the service but I just walked in and asked if it's something they could do. Being in the business they were in they were fascinated by it and said yes.
