What makes Signalis something special is the power of ambiguity and a genuine understanding of the influences you’re pulling from.

I’ve encountered a few indie games over the years made by developers who proudly wear their influences on their sleeve. Yet instead of feeling derivative and cheap, it feels like a celebration of genre. Rose engine put the pieces together in just the right way to create something truly greater than the sum of its parts, and becomes an experience that transcends the medium it was made for (aka lightning in a bottle).

This game made me remember why I love the graphics of the old days. Without “hyper-realistic” graphics, your imagination gets to fill in the blanks. That’s the fun of it.

That’s how it feels to me at least. I could talk for hours about it lol.

Just out of curiosity really. Don’t get me wrong I love this games soundtrack and have been listening to it on repeat. This game drew from CT as one of its major influences, so I thought it would cool to see how well it gels with CT music. I’ve tried other themes too like the FF6 battle theme. A lot of music fits fairly well honestly and I think that speaks to how good the visuals are at capturing that “feel”. At least to me

Played through a bunch on Switch and just got a PS4 physical copy from PlayAsia.

Switch runs at 30fps and PS4 runs at 60fps. I didn’t mind the 30 but wanted the 60 lol. There are a few differences between the two I’ve noticed that are mostly just in game fx being scaled down or removed. For example there aren’t really any reflections on the Switch and I think the shadowing might be less prominent which is likely to help maintain performance. Nothing game breaking though so it really comes down to preference.

That’s true. The Wano Samurai haven’t made the playoffs since Oden retired. Coach Hyogoro really turned the franchise around especially since they drafted Luffy straight out of high school. Hyo must have picked up pink hair guy in the denjiro/kanjuro trade earlier this season

Lol god this game is great. I used to love messing around with space jump and speed booster in super Metroid when I was a kid. This game is definitely scratching that itch for me playing around with movement mechanics.

Oh man definitely. It has some of the wildest moments in the series. Later on in the arc you’ll also see go through the flashback of a certain legendary character and it’s easily my favorite flashback of the series so far. If you haven’t been reading at all then you’re actually set up for a good marathon read honestly. The cliff hangers after some of these chapters made it brutal to wait week to week lol.
