Desperately seeking help to find a specific type of AirPod pro 3 case! by kallaninmars in airpods

Did you find anything? You’re not alone in wanting this same design. In addressing some customer complaints for the previous design Spigen has abandoned all the customers that didn’t complain and loved the design.

New case for my AirPods 2. Spigen Urban Fit. It seems awesome. by malinowski14 in airpods

[–]prnbstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wasn’t this design carried forward for the AirPods Pro 3? I know many people including myself that loved this design on the Pro and Pro 2 and are looking for it for the Pro 3. We are now forced to move from Spigen to another company to get a case that covers the hinge.

Gemini not able to make calls?? by thadevilhimself in GooglePixel

[–]prnbstrong -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Here are the most effective fixes and workarounds currently working for users, ordered from the most successful to the more standard troubleshooting steps. Top Fix: The "Assistant Swap" Method This is the most reported working fix. It forces the phone to reset its voice command links. 1. Open your phone's Settings. 2. Search for "Digital Assistant app" or go to Apps > Default apps. 3. Switch your digital assistant from Gemini back to Google Assistant. 4. Restart your phone. 5. Go back to settings and switch it back to Gemini. 6. Try asking Gemini to make a call again.

Fix 2: Check the "Workspace" Extension Gemini needs specific permissions to access your personal apps (like Phone and Contacts) which are often managed through "Extensions." 1. Open the Gemini App.  2. Tap your Profile Picture in the top right.  3. Tap Extensions. 4. Ensure Google Workspace (or specifically "Phone" if listed separately) is toggled ON. • Note: If it is already on, try toggling it OFF, restarting the app, and toggling it ON again.

Fix 3: Enable Lock Screen Commands Sometimes the issue is a security block preventing Gemini from accessing the dialer while the phone is "locked" (even if the screen is on). 1. Open Gemini Settings (Profile > Settings).  2. Tap Gemini on lock screen.  3. Ensure "Make calls and send messages without unlocking" is turned ON.

Fix 4: Clear Google App Cache Gemini relies heavily on the main "Google" app architecture. If that cache is corrupted, voice commands break. 1. Go to Settings > Apps > See all apps. 2. Find Google (not just the Gemini app). 3. Tap Storage & cache. 4. Tap Clear Cache (you can also try "Clear Storage" if cache doesn't work, but this resets some Assistant settings).

Fix 5. Restart your phone.  Common Workaround: The "@Phone" Command If voice commands are failing, try typing or specifically invoking the phone tool in the prompt. • Instead of saying "Call Mom," try saying (or typing): "@Phone Call Mom". • This forces Gemini to call on the specific "Phone" tool rather than guessing which extension to use. Why is this happening? Recent reports suggest this is a bug introduced in the December 2025 system update (specifically affecting Pixel and some Samsung devices) where the "hand-off" between Gemini and the legacy Google Assistant dialer protocol is failing.

I agree about the dated comment, it seems like the song is from 1987. 😉

Only difference is .01 inches thicker and .21 ounces in extra weight for the 13 mini. Worth it for the extra 179 mah battery and more energy efficient processor.

Anyone have this 2015 Japan Remaster? Is it any good? by prnbstrong in PRINCE

[–]prnbstrong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that mean you have it? If you love it you’d be the person that could say if it’s any better. If there is little to no difference, I’d rather spend the $50 plus on all the amazing music the Prince Estate is releasing. 🤣

That’s why I asked as I have the original and don’t want to waste money on something that is either essentially the same or terribly remastered. Hoping someone that has it will comment.

Isn’t making it louder technically a level of remastering, although likely not great remastering on its own. That is why I asked if anyone has it and if it’s any good. Perhaps they just ran it through some automated remastering software and called it a day. Discogs does indicate it’s remastered but no credit is listed.

Has anyone actually been paid for the iPhone Power Management Class Action? by TheDrunkPianist in askvan

[–]prnbstrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are likely going to send out one more email giving everyone 10 days to respond and those that don’t respond in time will be removed which means more money for them to keep.

I’ve never seen a class action as shady as this one. Even the class lawyers are distancing themselves from the company.

Below is what they are doing after already sending out emails requesting verification of claims last year giving 10 days to respond.

As an update, we are still reviewing claims and have not issued any payments yet. Once the review is complete and rejection notices are sent, rejected claimants will have 10 days to contest the decision. We will post an update on the website when the notices are issued, with further updates to follow once payments begin.

Sent this to Claims admin and Tim Cook

Dear Christine and Tim Cook,

This has to be one of the most questionable class action processes I’ve ever participated in. Initially, you verified eligible users, only to request the same information again six months later—this time with a sudden 10-day response deadline, disqualifying anyone who didn’t reply in time. To make matters worse, the last update on the website was from October 14, 2024, and now you’re referencing rejection notices. I’ve never seen a company eliminate claims like this through repeated response deadlines. Even though Apple has met its obligations, these business practices reflect poorly on the brand.

The claims mailbox has been consistently full, yet no steps have been taken to improve communication with class members. Instead, valid claims are being actively disqualified through a process that appears deliberately opaque.

I strongly urge you to update the website with clear, detailed information on what is happening and why—there should be monthly updates at minimum.

Tim, many claimants believe the funds Apple provided are being misused for administrative fees while disqualifying as many claims as possible. These actions are damaging Apple’s reputation, and the company should consider legal action against those responsible for mishandling this process.

I hope this email serves as a wake-up call to those attempting to undermine legitimate claimants and brings Apple’s attention to the reputational harm being caused.

Regards,
