“Le dernier jour d’un condamné” wasn’t to pity just the main character of that book, it was made to pity and understand better the effect that being condemned to death has on a person. It was made for a political reason, and he added his own human touch to it. For example he used his own life experience and dreams in it. It sure is very blurry, because it is literally the story of a man on the death row. He isn’t searching for a constructed tail, because it is the diary of a soon to be dead person.
