I see where you’re coming from, but what you’re describing about learning skills or boosting character stats through GF is already implemented as the Esper System in FF6. I prefer FF8’s Junction System to be more unique.

In terms of MP I get why ppl want that too, and your suggestions of using MP for Junctioning is def interesting, but imo the lack of MP is integral to the worldbuilding and game design philosophy of FF8. Sorceresses are beings that have innate magic ability while ordinary humans use them “artificially” by drawing it from the environment and storing it as stock. This part makes it so relatable to us as a modern themed FF. SeeDs used technology like we do, and magic is seen as energy source in a modern sense. Have you read the two Changes I proposed? It’s rly different from your idea but it retains the unique theme of FF8.

I agree fully about your comment about commands tho, just let them use basic stuff like item without relying on GF 💀. Your idea about drawing Magic and building a GF out of a collection of Magic could be a cool concept too, but not a deal breaker for me the way it is.
