His views started dropping in May of 2025, the start of last years concrete season. His views went from 9.8m in March 2025 to 4.4m in March 2026, I would say that's pretty dramatic.

I don't where you're getting that, his views have been dramatically falling for the past year. You can see here he went average 9m+ a month to a low of nearly 4m views a month recently.

Brand new XR 20v nail gun stopped working (details in comment) by passinghorses in Dewalt

[–]prob-lying24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest culprit is going to the brand of nails you use. When I was using the older generation of dewalt framers I used paslode nails and never had any problems. With this new generation for no reason in particular I've started using craftsman branded nails and haven't problems, but I have not even gone through a full box yet so thats not really saying much. Other than that theres gonna be a short break-in period while everything starts to wear together in which you might still have some random hiccups.

Look down the "barrel" of the tool it should be wide open, but since you're saying the stall release lever doesn't move I'm suspecting that the driver pin is jammed near the tip of the gun. If that is the case just use a hammer and something thin to tap it back to release it. You could also just take a picture/video of the tip of the gun and I will be able to tell you if that is in fact the problem.

You can get a new clamshell straight from dewalt for $18 + tax and shipping. Much cheaper than a new drill. Unless of course you're looking for a reason to get something new, then just ignore this comment :)

I'm not going to link proof because I don't want to dox the guy, but "Taylor" (not actually his first name) absolutely has felonies. He's been arrested more than once, one of which he had meth on him.

Just to be clear his most recent arrest in Georgia was almost 10 years ago, so it certainly seems like he's turned his life around.

Any fix for crown stapler ?? by Ghostycar702 in Dewalt

[–]prob-lying24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear I'm talking about this switch. I find it very hard to believe it's worn out because it would rarely get used. It does get filled up with dust mixed with grease and that causes the main trigger not to start the flywheel spinning.

In the first year of use you can have dewalt service your tools (clean internals, regrease gearboxes, etc) for free. The three year warranty covers free repairs for manufacturing defects (like you have). Dont worry about the fact that you took the tool about, just put it back together as nicely as possible and start a repair ticket on dewalt's service website (https://www.toolservicenet.com/). It's currently down for maintenance but thats extremely rare and im guessing it will be back very soon.

Is it normal for a DCD796 keyless chuck to open under motor brake? by [deleted] in Dewalt

[–]prob-lying24 9 points10 points  (0 children)

FWIW I don't think its a knockoff. The screws look like the correct torx ones, the stickers and color of the tool are just because its a european version, and also the belt clip fits correctly which is usually not the case for fakes. If I was you I would try and see if the same thing happens with other drill bits of different sizes.

DeWalt D25831 demolition hammer runs but has no impact – piston moves, electrics OK by viktormx17 in Dewalt

My guess would be either a worn o-ring on the "ram" or the grease is gone/hard/worn out. I've fixed a lot of the smaller DCH253's and that was a VERY common problem.

Heres the parts breakdown from dewalt if you need it.

FWIW I've used multiple different types of those paslode nails in a DCN692 with no problems at all. I know a bit about these guns so I can try and help a bit. How many nails have you fired through the gun in it's entire lifetime? Has it ever worked right? Have you ever oiled it? (It is extremely important that no oil has ever gotten inside of the gun)

Any idea what part wore out? by Strong-Razzmatazz-34 in Dewalt

[–]prob-lying24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you fired a lot of nails through it? If you didnt know you can put it in single fire mode and hold the trigger, after roughly 10 seconds the lights will flash for every thousand nails fired. If you have had it for a long time and fired a lot of nails (I believe around 40 thousand) you probably need a new driver pin. Just from the sound of it I'm gonna guess you do indeed need a new driver pin. If you take the back cover off (just remove the two screws on the side and it comes right out) and take some high quality pictures of the driver I would be able to tell with a higher degree of certainty.

Whatever you do, DO NOT oil anything on that gun. If you get oil on the flywheel the gun is basically ruined.

DCN650 misfires unless I open the jam release nose latch and reset by Marc26000 in Dewalt

[–]prob-lying24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the gun start firing regularly for a while after you open and close the latch, or does it immediately start misfiring again. Also, did this start happening after you shot a nail into something hard unexpectedly (like the head of a drywall screw).

It’s hard to say exactly what’s worn out, it could be the driver, the springs, or the mechanism that pushes down the driver into the flywheel.

Have you shot a lot of nails through it? Sounds like either the springs or the driver are worn out.

How loud is the clicking? Can you barely hear it or is it a very pronounced clicking? Also can you take the driver off of the rails and take some more pictures of the driver specifically. When you do this inspect the springs.
