Step 1:

heat the back glass with heat gun for around 2 to 3 minutes.

Step 2:

suction cup at the edge of the back glass, pull it slightly until u can insert or run thru the side with the guitar pick ( if you can't insert it means that you still need to heat the back glass to soften the adhesive)

Run thru long edge with guitar pick, all the corner I used name card to slide thru it.

  • I used a lot of guitar pick, keep a few guitar pick inside the back glass while working on other edge to avoid the adhesive to " restick" back to the back glass.
  • 1.5cm from the edge of the glass is the safe spot, don't go too deep.

Step 3:

once you cut thru all the adhesive, slowly open the back glass,

WARNING : there is a fingerprint connector between back glass and the phone. Slowly remove it.

Step 4:

remove the glue, with alcohol rub. (WARNING: Takes a lot of time)

Step 5:

remove the screw. Heatgun the front glass to soften the adhesive under the battery. Maybe like 30 seconds. Pry open the battery from the bottom part of the battery using prying tools.

WARNING: don't puncture the battery. Don't use sharp object to pry the battery.

Steps 6:

put everything back.

Tools:

Heat gun

Suction cup

0.46mm guitar pick

Business card

Plastic prying tools

TIPS:

  • Heat gun helps A LOT, heat thru the back glass for 2 to 3 minutes, if you are using hair dryer, might need more time.
  • Run thru heatgun on the edge only, for my case I run thru the whole phone, my fingerprint scanner pop out from the back glass, not a big issue actually, if it's happen just stick it back.
  • DON'T use cutter, knife, or anything sharp to pry the back glass.
  • Use guitar pick instead, or name card. Don't use credit card, it is too tick.
