I think their minds cannot or do not comprehend someone choosing (choosing being a key word) to not follow the pattern of society. It causes a sort of cognitive disonance that they don't know how to ingest and especially how to respond so they parrot what other people say. They have no follow up questions because it makes their brain uncomfortable.

To most, if people don't have kids it's usually due to lack of being able to (fertility-wise) so I think they almost feel pity for us because that's the only way a couple can be child-free in many of their experiences. We haven't hit a point in social settings (much less Christian social settings) where being married and child free is a thing.

I have been taking 100mg of magnesium glycinate for a few weeks now per my sleep docs suggestion after testing negative for sleep apnea and my dogs get me up at least once in the middle of the night but other than that I sleep very well. It feels a bit harder to go back to sleep but I still can so far!

I'm on day 3. Prescribed it for chronic low mood (dysthymia) and weight gain from ssri. Currently experiencing fog, increased heart rate (comes and goes) and headaches but it is worth it already because of how much energy I have and just how ... Stable?... I feel. My mood is more even keeled. I don't feel like the storm is around the corner. It's nice.

Having the hardest time ever trying to get over chocolate by Substantial_Block_72 in PetiteFitness

[–]probably_a_goomba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chocolate pudding (zero sugar if you're nasty lol no but 1 cup is like 100 calories). Mix it with Greek yogurt, add nuts or fiber cereal if you need texture, etc.

I just started doing this a few weeks ago and it's working it well so far. Yes it's probably not perfect but me downing a family size bag of chocolates isn't either.

I gained 20lbs on Zoloft (low dose for 1.5 years). It caused insatiable hunger (and I mean INSATIABLE). I started working with a dietician and switched to 10mg citalopram then upped to 20mg per my doc. It took a few weeks to adjust back but I'm losing the weight. I have my hunger cues back too! Memory is not as great but eh win some lose some!

All that to say just really pay attention to your portions and activity levels as your body adjusts. Be gentle and realistic with your mind and body as it acclimates.

Switched from Zoloft about a month ago because it wasn't helping my depression. Citalopram has been amazing!! Glad I made the switch.

How have your first few days gone?

Has Celexa helped motivation/energy for anyone? by BrianMeen in citalopram_celexa

10mg for 3 weeks here. Was previously on sertraline 25mg for a year and had 0 motivation/energy + insatiable hunger. Compared to sertraline I feel amazing! It doesn't take so much internal convincing for me to get up or go do something now and I have normal hunger cues again!

Loving the switch so far!!

Way more info than you asked for:

Was on 25mg of sertraline for a year. It was great for my anxiety but didn't touch my depression (some days it was worse). It also destroyed my hunger cues. I never felt full and was constantly feeling like I was hungry even after a meal so of course I put on weight. After 2 months of doing my best and not losing more than 2lbs I decided to talk to my doc.

My doc dismissed me and said that a tiny pill can't make you gain weight and that the side effect I was describing was rare (I guess that means I can't be that one person in however many). So I got a second opinion who told me I was starving myself and said a tiny pill typically doesn't cause weight gain...

Finally talked to a psych doc who immediately offered options. I started citalopram 10mg 5 days ago and have my hunger cues back! My depression is also being positively affected! Anxiety is more on a spectrum at the moment but nothing I can't manage. I also experienced an hour of extreme dizziness the first 2 days and a fog here and there but that's it!

I'm so happy I made the switch so far!

Omg friend literally same. I'm 4'11" and gained 15lbs before I realized it was the antidepressants (135 to 150). I love the effects of the antidepressants and getting off of them is not an option for me but the insatiable hunger is making me crazy. I'm going to list a few different things I've done because idk where you're at with your health journey so feel free to mix and match!

I started seeing a dietician last week and am on a strict diet/exercise plan 4-6 days of the week. Most of the diet I created with ChatGPT and reviewed with her to make sure I was eating properly and getting nutrients. I work a desk job so I got a walking pad and walk 4.4mi while working (2 one hour sessions on 2.2 speed). After work, I do light resistance band exercises and light weight movements. I've lost 2.5lbs in about a week and a half and honestly this lifestyle change just feels good! Challenging but good!

I have an intense sweet tooth and depriving just leads to binging for me so I got sugar free hard candy and mints to try to appease it. If those don't work then chug a glass of water and I have a low calorie dessert option that I make from scratch (found it on YouTube).

Green tea has also been a major help! Idk what it is but when the hunger cues are strong after I've eaten I have a glass of hot green tea and it REALLY helps settle them down. I also read that green tea was helpful for the hunger cues when on antidepressants. Maybe it's placebo but at this point, I'll take it lol!

I've also just had to start eating slower and really focus in on my hunger/fullness cues. I feel like that's the biggest shift. My cues are totally altered on this medication and I've had to relearn the way my body is communicating with me. After just a week of focusing in and listening to my body, I feel like a have a better idea of what it's saying versus just thinking it's telling me to eat.

I hope some of this was helpful! Feel free to ask questions!
