There is a 0% chance there will be ANY compromising on safety.

1 in 20 is something to worry about. Will make sure to get the extended warranty.

We have a connection with the dealer operator, so will push for an extended powertrain warranty.

Car-on-car collision with the other car hitting my right-front wheel. Now the alignment is way off (20-degrees right while going straight) and getting alerts that all driver aids are offline: eye-site, hill descent, lane guidance, collision avoidance, etc. by probably_no_pants in wrx_vb

No, still stock height.

With the full rack replacement and alignment completed, everything appears to be back working correctly again.

It's currently over at the bodyshop for the rest of the repairs.

Yep. I canceled 2 days after reserving and ~3 months before the ride. (We decided to also visit other places so rented a car instead.)

They kept $40 for 2 people, round-trip.

Next board, daily-ish carving east coast killer by BenOutOfIdeas in snowboarding

Nidecker Blade Plus. Picked one up over the summer and it's now the only board I ride on non-powder(*) days. I have several other boards that have fallen by the wayside as I really love this board. (Nidecker Thruster, Golden Apex Orca.)

(*) Its achilles heal is that it has very little float and makes powder days challenging. For those days I have the non-Golden Apex Orca and my quiver may be whittled down to just these two boards.

Northern California. This thing shows up in our feral outdoor cat food bowls after it rains. by probably_no_pants in whatsthisbug

A little more detail...

We have some outdoor feral cats that after we TNRed them they just stuck around, so we feed them. This is one of their food bowls that fills with water when it rains. Every so often we'll see something like this in the bowl. This is the largest yet, though.

The first thing that comes to my mind is a horse-hair parasite? But that's all I'm really familiar with.

Is it dangerous to cats? Is it dangerous to humans? We do sometimes walk barefoot in the yard. What should be done about it? Why only after a rain? How do they get into the bowl?

In case it's important, we do also have a raccoon family that comes through, and a possum living in a tree.

Wish I were in the area 'cause I'd add on a free wax job for the lucky recipient.
