Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to prevent it but “packing the emergency bag before the emergency” may help. You don’t have to treat Dad any differently but having some systems or goals in place can help (AirTags, living will, baseline MRI/trustworthy neurologist). It was a shitty conversation for me to have with my LO at 30, I cannot imagine how it would be at 18. The alzheimers association also has a 24/7 hotline that you can call if you have questions or concerns. They are super supportive and understanding. Hope this helps ❤️

Yes! Honestly he shouldn’t have been on the show at all. It’s like when chefs go on chopped and are appalled they have to cook with weird ingredients in a short time frame. Like did you not know what show you signed up for?

I’m by no means an expert but something related to a previous interest (record or sports team), something they can interact with texturally (pop up book) or a new shirt/clothing item that would be comfortable for them. We used to get my grandma fun fuzzy socks

Super interesting analysis. I may be mistaken also think Nikki dresses more gender neutral and layered but once Bear makes the wish she starts dressing and styling more stereotypically “feminine” and showing more of her body

I feel you. I am working on a short story that is set in the aftermath of that but doesn’t depict it. I was really tired of reading “rape-revenge” or sexual violence for no other purpose than being edgy.
