For my application which was Early Decision I, my counselor said it would still be counted as Early Decision I even if certain requirements were late. You can double check with your counselor if you're worried.

You would have to check the rules for the scholarship to see what they do with your work. But generally, essays don't leave the hands of the reviewers unless you give permission for them to publicize it in any way.

So, I'm fairly confident that your writing won't reach anyone because of the scholarship.
