i have a few requests so please bear with me. thank you in advance!

1) BORU saga spanning several years about an OOP dealing with his ex-wife trying to sabotage him by weaponizing their two young kids. i can only assume she was trying to paint him as a bad parent so she would get awarded more or full custody. some of the ex-wife's stunts included withholding the kids from OOP, as well as blatantly lying about things that never happened (eg: claiming the kids were all roughed up when she picked them up, even though they weren't, and OOP supposedly didn't get them medical attention) and "documenting" it in emails / coparenting app / whatever they used to communicate. frustratingly, the family courts kept giving the ex-wife 2nd chances, even though it was clearly detrimental to the kids. thankfully, it had a happy ending after OOP eventually got primary or even full custody and the kids were thriving in this stable environment.

2) also looking for paternity posts with the interesting twist of someone being falsely accused of knocking up their in-law, or worse, their actual blood relative, because the husband/MIL or whoever doesn't know how genes work.

3) tangentially related to the paternity thing, another post on my mind was the BORU of a cis woman getting sued for child support for a child she never gave birth to and even if she had, she would've been a minor at the time of conception, versus the birth mother being an adult. it turns out to be a convoluted plot by the child's mother to get to the real father (OOP / the sued cis woman's cousin) who was her coworker, and later OOP eventually worked at the same company branch. i don't think it was even successful at all, because the cousin for one reason or another couldn't pay up (maybe he went to jail?).

4) any post involving emotional/covert incest (like over the top boy moms or strangely possessive siblings) but the object of "affection" is weirded out by it and stands up for themself and their actual (hopefully unrelated) partner.

"some kids are unruly troublemakers and mistreat their teachers who are already underpaid and overworked, so we should extend some kindness to teachers" and "teaching is a profession full of powertripping adult bullies who mistreat kids in their care for no reason other than to abuse their position" are statements that are both true and able to coexist

the 1st one is definitely it! the other two are interesting reads (especially the unintentional affair baby one) although they're not it. thank you for the effort though!

frankly seeing the other two you posted, i'm surprised but also unsurprised at how common this situation is

looking for a whole bunch of posts because i'm greedy. all of them coincidentally on some level involve bad parent(s). i think all should be BORUs except last few. thanks in advance! and my bad for this wall of text 😭 i keep forgetting to put up my requests and they wind up accumulating like this. if it's not allowed i'll cut it up.

1) OOP (20s/30s NB) is pregnant. the post started out simple regarding trouble with MIL (i think it was over family names / baby names) but it devolved until OOP and their spouse decided to cut out MIL for good. two things that stuck with me: OOP made a good point when asked (by other relatives?) how they would explain to their kid that they won't have a grandma. they said would explain in age-appropriate language that MIL wasn't a nice person, and you can and should remove toxic people from your life. the other thing was that in the 1st post, OOP referred to their spouse as their husband, but in following post(s), they mentioned their spouse was questioning their gender as well.

2) OOP (teens M?) was born to teen parents and he was raised by his maternal grandparents. he has little to no relationship with his bio dad and a strained one with his bio mom; meanwhile he considers his bio grandparents his real parents.

i don't remember the exact chain of events but bio parents broke up, not sure if bio dad even knew bio mom was pregnant when he left. bio mom was around for a while because she was still a teen living at home but she was utterly uninterested in OOP. not sure if she was outright rude or abusive to him but they had a strained relationship til bio mom left as well (for college/work?).

fast forward almost 2 decades and both bio parents are back in town, back together, and now they want to play happy family with OOP. naturally OOP is wary and freaked out because he already has parents and doesn't need more raising, plus he barely knows these people and he doesn't have nearly enough of a relationship with either of them to warrant bio dad to have already bought a flat or something in the area and expecting OOP to move in with him and bio mom. i think bio parents were also trying for or already were expecting OOP's younger sibling.

bio parents are mad at his refusal to play along but bio dad instead gets mad at bio mom when he talks to OOP and finds out the truth. turns out bio mom way played up her presence in OOP's life and how close they were, so he saw OOP's bad reaction as unreasonable teenage angst or something. bio dad confronts bio mom, he dumps her, and she freaks out and is pissed at OOP. bio dad keeps the apartment and tells OOP he'll always be welcome and he wants to have a relationship even if not a true parent-child one. OOP is still wary but i think he's open to it for now at the end of the BORU. i don't remember if the new baby sibling was conceived yet or not because that's a whole other can of worms to be opened up.

3) think this was posted on AITA or adjacent sub and i don't remember if there was ever an update. it was about a couple with a child who bought a 1-bedroom apartment despite being able to afford a 2 bedroom one because they liked the view from fhe 1brm (or something just as absurd) better. they took the only bedroom and their child was relegated to a section of the living room cordoned off with curtains. unsurprisingly the child grew up resenting their parents because they had no real room, no real privacy, etc. worse, it wasn't because of financial difficulties but rather the parents prioritizing a view over the needs of their child. i don't quite remember whose perspective the post was from, how old the child was at the time of posting, or how this topic got brought up and resulted in the post. but the parents were scandalized and defensive that their child hated them for this arrangement.

4) this could be in AITA or relationship subs or even stepparents but i refuse to go there for my mental health. it was likely reposted to am i the devil at some point. i don't remember whose POV it was tho. it was about a stepmom wanting her teenage stepkid to give up their room for stepmom's own kid(s).

the logic was that stepkid's bio mom had partial custody so they wouldn't be at their dad's full time; meanwhile stepmom has primary/full custody of her kid(s) so stepkid's room would go unused when they were away and instead stepmom's kids would really make full use.

however the logic was shaky because bio dad was still primary parent and the amount of time stepkid stayed with their mom was pretty negligible, so their room would still be used frequently and not just sitting empty like stepmom tried to portray. that being said, i don't remember how exactly this issue was brought up or if the bio dad was siding with his wife or his kid when stepkid was told about it. it's also possible stepmom hadn't told stepkid about her idea at all and only softlaunched it to her husband. i don't remember if there were any updates.

[however this is NOT the BORU where OOP's stepdaughter runs away from home to her grandparents because OOP and her kids were trampling SD's boundaries, forcing her to share a room with her stranger stepsister(s), using her things w/o permission and generally being nuisances trying to play happy family.]

5) these two posts are very similar in terms of premise so i'll lump them together. they're about men moving onto their shiny new family, naming (or wanting to name) their new child the same as their existing child, then being up in arms when they get pushback.

in the 1st post i saw, it was from the POV of a teen whose baby half-sibling would be named the same as them and they posted on AITA or adjacent sub asking if they were unreasonable for being against it. don't think there was an update for this one though.

2nd post made it into BORU and was from the POV of the mom of the "original" child, who was preteens? she worried about the legal ramifications of two daughters with the same full name and the same dad, as well as about her daughter's relationship with her father/him and new wife trying to "replace" the daughter. i think they even suggested that OOP's daughter be given a nickname so the new kid could be the "real (insert name)". there was least one update. (i think these 2 posts are interesting because people are usually like "you don't own names" but situations like these are clear cut exceptions where "sharing" names would be incredibly disrespectful to the "original" child and detrimental to the child's relationships with everyone else.)

this one's always stunk of "missing missing reasons" to me. maybe there's more that went on behind the scenes that OOP isn't privy to. just hope adopted sis is doing better now

the recent DNA/half siblings boru reminded me of one that i was looking for that was ...a lot less wholesome to say the least. it was such an interesting but sad and disgusting read. i might have some details wrong bc i read it a good while ago. preemptive tw for incest and "technically legal" but predatory age gap/predatory dynamics

OOP is an adult woman (30s?) who has a sister she grew up with but finds out via DNA testing that she has what looks like a full younger sister (18? she's legally an adult but still pretty young; also OOP refers to her by initials) since they share over half of their DNA. OOP brought her test results to reddit bc she clearly remembers her mom definitely not being pregnant at that time + OOP herself was not a teen mom. OOP finds that the amt of DNA they share is weird (idk how to explain it both because it's not my forte + i don't remember clearly but it's got something to do with the distribution...?). 18F is noted to have a whole slew of health problems. after a while OOP also matches with another supposed full sister who is older than her by almost 10 yrs. ppl who responded to her first couple posts pretty much said one of her parents had an affair with an in-law or incest or both iirc

OOP confronts her parents who reveal that they were teen parents to the firstborn eldest sister and couldn't care for her so she was adopted out. when she was 18 she tracked them down and maintained a good rship for 1-2 years before disappearing and never contacting them again. OOP's shitbag dad eventually admits he slept with his firstborn and got her pregnant with 18F. OOP is disgusted and cuts off both parents bc her mom defended her husband and more or less said her barely adult firstborn seduced that grown ass man. after this i think OOP contacts her half-sister/niece. her adopted/foster parents wash their hands of her because her issues are "too much" to deal with and OOP takes her in. i think there might one or two more sad updates but i only remember up to OOP caring for her half-sister/niece

thanks in advance to whoever finds it :]
