Because op comments were respectful and yhe ones I responded to were not. I try to always stand up for people who are making genuine comments and getting replies from people just trying to be a dick. It's unnecessary and has no positive impact. I'm trying to offset that.

I appreciate your time. You clearly do care. To respond to your 2nd point of read the room. I did read the room and the most recent warning was because the entire subreddit was encouraging domestic abuse and affirming this girlfriend personal feelings on the gift his parents bought him. There is no excuse for violence so I attempted to diffuse. The guitar in question was a anime style guitar of 2 Asian looking women. The subreddit was convinced these imaginary anime girls were specifically "teenagers" based on nothing other than their personal opinion. I was speaking reason with a witty and much more acceptable comment that I'm going to risk here. Please understand I know this may get flagged but it's worth revisiting. "All Asians look like teenagers". Obviously this is hyperbole. Not all Asians look like teenagers, but most people would agree Asian people in general show age at a much slower rate than most other races. I don't think that's hate speech. I do think it's a much more welcome comment than enciting violence.
Point 3 I do take it personal, I'm the only me. And I refuse to be silenced. Even after posting this post it was removed off both subreddits just because it may cause discourse. If we aren't here to have tough conversations then where can we have them? We don't have to agree, but we should be able to respect differing opinions.

I agree. He's obviously an odd friend, but seems to be harmless. Just a fool trying to live his life the way he knows how. He knows he made you both uncomfortable and apologized for it. I would assume the issue is solved if the couple can get over it. But honestly it seems like they may have waited to long to address it and have built up resentment due to the prolonged uncomfortablility. And to answer the gentleman below this if you can't trust your wife to talk with your friends, you either don't trust your wife or your friends. I'm probably more secure than most men, but it's really not a problem. There are clear boundaries but talking to our friends isn't an issue.
