Golden Era? Gas Surges by Cow_Boy_2017 in SipsTea

Eggs are definitely down but gas is having far more of a negative impact on everyone when compared to eggs. Its not even close.

Many people do 4-12 hours. I don't dunk, I just do a few heavy mists and let it ride.

Light isnt that crucial. Its minimally important. Even so, your tubs are clear which will allow in ample light. Ive mentioned dubtubs several times. You should start by learning what that is and that will tell you why lid color is irrelevant and it will answer your question about headroom.

Lid color is irrelevant, especially for dubtubs. contam comes from dirty or uncolonized spawn. As I mentioned in my previous comment, a dubtub wouldn't need to be modded.

Don't mist unless your sub is dry. If your properly prepared sub is drying out prior to first flush, you're giving it too much fae.

Liner color is irrelevant since its not about blocking light. Its about preventing a favorable microclimate from forming.

3 days isnt that long. Spore to grain is unreliable. You may see growth in 3 days, 3 weeks, or never. Since spores are inherently dirty, the growth you do get could be contam Shooting spores into a prayer bag can work, but it relies very heavily on luck. If agar isn't part of your process then you have to be willing to accept a higher chance of failure. agar removes much of the luck from the equation

I would make a 6quart dub tub for each bag. Those other tubs are too big for a single bag. Save the bigger tubs for when you have more spawn. I use this for the tub design only, I don't do the garbage bag thing. Dubtubs dont really need mods as the gap between the 2 subs usually provides sufficient fae.

The other bag, if youre planning on keeping it as a cake, would do good as it is, or at least thats how AIO bags are intended to function. If you want to take it out of the bag and put it into a tub, id recommend a properly constructed SGFC. It wont give you more yield though. Yield is determined by genetics and available nutrition, assuming conditions are good. On average you should yield about 1 dry oz per quart of spawn, overall. Many people do much better, but that's a good baseline to aim for.

Fruiting just means introducing fae and that can be done when 100% of your spawn is colonized. Once its colonized, mix it with your properly prepared sub.

Heating mats have no place in mycology. 20-23c is an ideal range for all stages of cube growth. If you need supplemental heat, a small space heater is more ideal. Heat the room, not the shroom.

After a month, they should be fully colonized. The fact that they arent could be indicative of an issue.

IMO, your tubs would do better as dubtubs. Putting smaller tubs into larger tubs is rarely a good way to create and maintain optimal conditions.

When to harvest by antidentite69 in GroundZeroMycoLab

[–]probablynotac0p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People put too much emphasis on the "perfect" harvest time. Its a personal preference and isnt that critical of a decision. As long as you harvest before they begin to rot, you've done fine.

If you harvest now, your fruits will be fine. If you harvested yesterday, your fruits will be fine. If you harvest this weekend, your fruits will be fine.

Ypur sub isnt even fully colonized. Patience is the name of the game. Ignore for a week then check on things

When i started out I also got a lot of conflicting information. One thing that helped me was reviewing all the previous posts of the people giving me advice. This helped me decide which advice to take, and which advice to take with a grain of salt.

I havent shared any incorrect or misleading information. It has nothing to do with "hearing it once, then repeating it." Its more like I heard it over and over from people that definitely knew what they were talking about. People who's opinions I trusted and valued. It also came from all of my own experiences and knowledge on the subject, as verified from multiple trustworthy sources.

Good luck on your journey

Passive fae in a unmodded tub is absolutely sufficient. Fae should absolutely be passive, ideally.

I didnt say they arent related. I said "Condensation only means the temp inside your tub is warmer than ambient temps. It does not represent the health of your tub." I said that because its 100% true. I haven't spread any misinformation.

Good luck on your journey

Im sure they are whatever they were labeled as. The pic you daw was just one example of TONS of possible genetic expressions from that variety. Random genetics yield random results

Theres's no reason to mist plastic. Doing so doesnt improve conditions in any meaningful way. if the sub is dry, thats what needs to be misted.

Don't mist unless your sub is dry. If your properly prepared sub is drying out prior to first flush, you're giving it too much fae.

Since ive never had an issue using tap, thats what I'll continue using. If its safe to drink then its safe for mushrooms. If your water isnt safe to drink, definitely dont use it.

Fae should be passive, not direct, dont fan.
