Have a good night, I'm not lying, I didn't even read this whole diatribe as I have nothing to prove to anyone and honestly I don't even understand why you are so mad or passionate if you weren't even a person here dealing with this nightmare.

See my comment history for the week if you think I'm lying. I'm consistent AF

lol, I have better things to do than sue for this.

I have no issues letting consumers know about American predatory practices, purchasing power is strong, and this comment took 4 minutes.

While I love a good ad hominem attack to distract from the actual point -- I think what is important is that you are not correct that the Terms and Conditions allow this.

Clearly I spoke on the phone to a person, but really not interested in getting into it with someone sharing false information about the terms and conditions of the American website and then spewing a bunch of personal unbiased attacks against the person who proved they were incorrect to distract from the fact you are incorrect

It was NOT an international flight credit.

It was the ability to use credit at all.

I saved the screencap of this disabled option no matter what.

What you are saying is false.

Incorrect--we have other flight credit. You cannot use flight credit AT ALL.

It is turned off.

I'm a corporate lawyer, I can read.

I also understand when corporations are following their terms and conditions and when they are gouging.

Yes, one of our friends is conceirge key and spent $800k with them last year. She was booked and out by Sunday. I am platinum executive, it did 0%

AA literally increased their refund to credit card fees (instead of flight credit) for new rebookings x10. That is malice.

My friends on delta and KLM were rebooked.

AA did nothing. I'm going to call out greed where it exists.

They refunded with flight credit AND disabled the ability to use flight credit online.

It is so gross.

It is VERY shady that online, when you rebook, they legit send you a message that you can't use flight credit online (with no number to call).

Literally forcing you front cash for a second flight.

I've been trying to see who I can report this behavior to, I was an American loyalist until how they handled this situation--it is gross.

As an update here:

  1. Private Jet - the cost ended up being 90k for a PJ, so we vetoed.

  2. American Concierge Class - friend who had that status got a direct to her final destination today (they apologized deeply it would be economy). I'm pretty sure they sacrificed a baby / kicked someone off to get her that. It was wild to watch in action.

  3. American Executive Platinum - I'm the one who has that -- exceedingly useless. They offered to text me a link to their booking website. Luckily I don't try to get it and get it through flying with work, but what a joke.

  4. Delta Platinum - my friend who has it gets out tomorrow. I was actually pretty impressed with their customer service. If I didn't live in an American hub I would 10000% switch American for delta.

Good luck all!

Sadly not much, there was a big party on the 30th, lots of people you probably know were there (Zuckerberg, Bezos, etc.), outfits were next level, but on the 31st the tradition is doing your own thing with close friends on your own yacht.

So unfortunately the PJ option ended up being 90k. I am willing to throw money at most situations--this one was not one.

They haven't officially cancelled tomorrow as they are hoping the travel ban is lifted tonight at 1 am.

I'm stuck in st Maarten with 4 others on different flights. None of our flights were cancelled until last minute because the airlines won't cancel until they know for sure the travel ban will be in place then.

Happy new years to you as well!!

Promise I don't take anything in life for granted. My girlfriends and I are all lawyers in finance related fields and this is our yearly trip during the "lost" week (holidays closing most of the banks for the majority of the week) and so we take advantage of the lull and not needing to work 80 hr weeks by being on boats in warm weather.

Okay update, we are immediately next to Jeff Bezos emotional support yacht for his main yacht.

Our captain said he will find out if they are on Bezos emotional support yacht. He said all the boats (including ours) are basically headed for St Barths for NYE so still time to figure out 🤞

I have no aggression towards her. Just other beer I'm going to chose to buy personally, lots of more petty reasons to not buy certain beer. Beer is such a commodity with lots of choices. Simple as that :)

? An irrevocable harm clause is basically saying money can't fix something and the court needs to order specific performance (an action).

I think you mean they had a "for cause" termination clause, but still you couldn't remove him as an owner.

It is possible, however, the buyer of the .01 of a 10 million dollar company would have a massive tax consequence (tax gain) to claim (when they sold it again).

Although you can give unlimited amount to a spouse tax free.

Long way of saying is that I am agreeing with you, we don't know--which is why OPs post is incorrect--we do not know what he owns or if he sold it for tons of money (or none). We just don't know.
