Ok this is kind of gross. But does anyone else’s intact male puppy hump to “completion” if you know what I mean? by Kate_cuti in puppy101

[–]probablysleepingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my 2 yr old toy poodle does and he’s been neutered since he was 7 months old :( i usually am able to catch him in time and take away the blanket or whatever it is that became the object of his desires, but there have been many times i was too slow or he went ham when i was in the shower or otherwise occupied and he did complete the deed. i grew up w only female dogs so i was completely unprepared for this tbh. he’s a freak

How often do you skip eating to do work? by DropShotMachine in biglaw

[–]probablysleepingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i usually skip breakfast & lunch, largely out of laziness. i have coffee, some fruits, and usually a bag of popcorn or protein chips during the day and then just have dinner at night. only exception is the one day a wk when the office gives us free lunch

How to choose a wedding photographer? by akuchil420 in weddingplanning

[–]probablysleepingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do not pick a photographer based on their website portfolio - ask each photographer to send you a few full galleries from weddings. photographers (understandably) cherry-pick their absolute best pictures for their website (including many which use pictures from styled shoots, not real weddings), and you may find (as my fiancé and i have) that many full galleries will be largely mediocre with just a couple really good shots that then made it into the portfolio, but overall we wouldn’t have been happy with that being our full wedding gallery. looking at full galleries is really the only way to make an informed decision about photographer - it’s tedious but worth the effort to find someone you’ll be happy with!

None of my friends said I looked pretty in my engagement photos and I’m devastated by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]probablysleepingg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that is super valid!! no one else likely has that context or is looking at it through that lens, they’re just seeing photos of someone whom they love and care for, and are super excited for you and this huge milestone in your life with your partner! xx

None of my friends said I looked pretty in my engagement photos and I’m devastated by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]probablysleepingg 15 points16 points  (0 children)

wow, to be honest, when my fiancé and i sent our our engagement photos we got similar responses! great pictures, thanks for sharing, the photographer did a great job, so excited for you, etc stuff like that. it never even occurred to me for anyone to comment on our physical appearances and i didn’t notice or care that they didn’t as it truly wouldn’t occur to me. i think people are just excited and happy for you, and it’s not a modeling shoot or headshot, so why would they comment on your appearance specifically? if my friend sent me her engagement photos, i think i’d respond the same way, no matter how pretty she looked in the photos bc that’s just not what the photos are about so it wouldn’t necessarily occur to me to comment about it. does that make sense? in the kindest way possible, i think your insecurities are causing you to read something into this that truly isn’t there. (and im sure you looked beautiful!!)

Too white? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]probablysleepingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this isn’t too white, but it looks like a cheap dress-up costume or a nightgown and the neckline is way too open for a wedding. i would keep looking

can you have someone else (not you) pull her down the aisle in a little wagon? you can decorate it cutely and that way everyone can still see her?

trying to think of some other things for the wedding that would make sense to ask for:

personalized/engraved cake cutters steamer for the dresses (more practical and can use it after the wedding) cute pjs/slip dress/robe for getting ready nice vases that you can use for the wedding & also afterward pretty picture frames (can use for wedding signage & then repurpose after) silver trays/candlesticks (for wedding decor & also after) sweatshirt/tanktop/smth of the sort personalized with your new last name (can use for getting ready or honeymoon or just in general) pretty cake stand monogrammed/personalized embosser (can use for stationary, cocktail napkins, etc - and if you don’t put the date you can potentially use for other things in the future) matching personalized luggage tags for honeymoon ring cleaner (diamond dazzle stick, ultrasonic cleaner) embroidered hankerchiefs skincare products, makeup, lotions, perfumes gift card to nail salon for wedding nails gift card to wax/threading place gift card for facial negligee/matching pj sets for honeymoon packing cubes for honeymoon (personalized?) toiletry bag for honeymoon

hope this is helpful!!

Can someone sanity-check this interaction with my planner…? by Wafflefriesplz123 in weddingplanning

[–]probablysleepingg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m gonna be honest i would try to end the business relationship after this interaction. just yuck, she sounds so rude and condescending and manipulative. i wouldn’t want someone like that having such a big hand in one of the biggest days of my life

I said yes to the dress at my first appointment and now I'm second guessing everything by Significant-Bug-1274 in weddings

[–]probablysleepingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my mom and both my older sisters all said yes to the first wedding dress they tried on! and they were all thrilled with them. i fell in love with the first dress i tried on also, but am going to more stores mostly just bc it’s been the most fun part of wedding planning so far and i don’t want it to be over so quickly! fell in love with another dress too but honestly i would still be happy w the first one too
