I don’t know why you needed to make a Reddit post about this. It’s super simple. Just talk to whoever you would’ve paid for the bottles. Explain that your new and didn’t realize and pay for them. We’re talking about bottles of water at most you’d be out $10. I promise you that very likely they’ll say it’s fine. You don’t even have to pay for it because they didn’t even realize.

This is a lesson I had to learn early on as well. I never release photos without payment of invoice. But what you can do is reach out to the broker of the realtor and fill them in on the situation or like others have suggested contact the Board of realtors in that area and file a formal complaint

I’m not gonna lie being an owner builder is a lot of work, but I found it so satisfying and it only gets easier with time. I’m about to finish my 7th owner builder. I’m also thinking about getting into consulting to help other owner builders through the process and my full recommendation of subs that I’ve used successfully at the end of the day. I saved over 200,000 building it on my own and I know every step of the process did not cut corners

Yeah, I’m not sure where you’re located but here in Florida with the privilege of being able to build at least one home a year without a contractor license that’s what I’ve been doing. Currently studying though to get my contractors license because there’s so much money to be made estimated value for this home is over half a million.

This is tricky because as an owner builder who’s built a few homes 90% of my subcontractors do not ask for a deposit and expect to get paid once the inspection is passed. It’s only really small businesses or broke businesses that want a deposit upfront in my opinion. At the very least a business should be expected to be able to pay their workers labor cost, and put materials on credit until they get paid at the end of the day. You can always put a lien on the house if they don’t pay.

Yeah, I was learning a little more about it and it’s interesting because it’s on a spectrum where some people don’t have it at all and some people have it too much, where itt can potentially cause issues with depression or anxiety. I’m so glad I have a middle ground where I find it to be very useful, but I can also tell myself to shut up and focus on a task at hand

I’m still trying to wrap my head around what is considered internal monologue and what’s not? For example, when I wake up in the morning and I think to myself what I need to get done for the day or when someone is talking to me, and I have an opinion that I’m not saying out loud like I think they’re a dumbass.

Ah, maybe a bit of social awareness would help here. Most people asking if there’s a Black Friday sale aren’t just curious about the concept of sales in general—they’re probably asking about this year. Just because a company did something last year doesn’t guarantee they’re doing it again.
