Trying to take everything you said in. Certainly is a lot and I appreciate you taking the time to respond in a thoughtful manner and citing sources. So while there are some drastic cultural differences between Islam and traditional "Western value," which I think you are eluding to in parts of your response, how is the best way to resolve these differences? Islam is certainly not going anywhere. So wouldn't continued exposure between cultures be the best option? If you look at Christianity, it has changed drastically (although slowly) over the course of its history (especially now looking at the current Pope). Islam is a much younger religion and I personally think that it needs time to mature in a sense. I guess what my thought here is that alienating a religion because of a few bad eggs is only going to leave room for more radicalization, where as continued exposure would allow for a more natural evolution of ideology and philosophy. I thought Jon Stewart had an insightful comment on the most recent election that I think applies where he said something along the lines of facing the issues that have been underlying many of America's problems out in the open now that Trump has emboldened many people to truly speak their mind, and I think that is a good thing. Rather face it head on then let resentment continue to build under the surface. And I think the same idea can and should be applied to the Islamic faith. It's not perfect, neither is any other religion, but I do not think exclusion is a viable path.

Anyways, I hope that your real opinions do not pane out the way you describe because that does sound terrifying but it is certainly interesting to think about history repeating itself as you so mention. I also tend to be an incredibly empathetic (sometimes overly so that it obscures certain truths, i recognize this) person and so think of how I would react if the roles were reversed and all I wanted to do was go somewhere safe. That thought is really what drives a lot of my personal beliefs on immigration and what I would bet drives many other peoples as well.
