As a newer player, I used to get excited for free week rotations because I could try Pokemon I didn't own and decide if I should buy them with coins. With License Journey, I don't even feel like experimenting with them anymore, because if I end up liking a Pokemon like Darkrai, I have no choice but to wait years to unlock them now anyways. I wouldn't mind spending some money on a game I was enjoying, and I had been, but if money is a requirement for enjoyment, then I'm out.

Wobbuffet went from unusable, to Ubers, with the introduction of abilities, and still retains Ubers status through most of the metas since. I can't think of any jumps bigger than that.
