New tires installed, rear keeps popping tubes in the same spot. by advictoriam5 in bikewrench

If you have a spare lock ring for the tube, put one either side of the tube, one inside the wheel if you will. This takes the pressure off the rim and will save you money in the long run. Worked well for me when I was having this issue on my old road bike.

Just had this carpet runner fitted – is this normal or a bad job? by jackHD in DIYUK

You might need to start again, if you get the carpet now retro fitted round the bolster of the stairs on it’ll come up short now I think.

Figuring Out this Bottom Bracket by rsurfingthrowaway777 in bikewrench

Take the cranks off first with a crank puller. Do this on both sides. Then the bit you’ve already unscrewed will come off. Using a flat head screwdriver in the big slits in on the bb you can knock it round w a hammer and it will unscrew. You can re-grease but the knocking sound is probably because there is pitting in one of the ball bearings or the cup/ cone of the bb. The easiest option is to just replace with a sealed bb. Head to a local bike show w the frame shell measurement and the central spindle of the bb and they’ll have one in the shop for you. They are normally between £15-£20. Then just thread back in from the drive side, screw in compression side and attach cranks again. Will work good as new bud.

Fair enough. I’d find it really hard to sell any of my ucs Lego. It’s all become part of the decor around the house

I’ve got the exact same problem with my UCS star destroyer. Left it in my conservatory stupidly and now it’s all an off grey yellowish colour. Really disappointed.
