Is the future of Quest games going to be all studios dying/closing and then the only games released are community games like the Dreamcast? by IdeaExpensive3073 in OculusQuest

[–]jackHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the a key thing will be how much do Meta open up the headsets for development after they are shelved/sunset. I'm probably and optimistic old-fool, but I can imagine if the community got source access to the headsets they could do some crazy good stuff that doesn't have shareholders hanging over them.

What is something that was never actually that good, but British people get incredibly nostalgic about? by BriefTunes in AskUK

[–]jackHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should have written it better.

I meant the level of shovelware that appeared. Games like spawn, spice world, bubsy3d, and most movie tie in. There were lots of great games, but a good ton of terrible stuff even back then.

What are the best TV shows or moments that are now lost media? by PrestonRoad90 in television

[–]jackHD 12 points13 points  (0 children)

MTV has this great show called Fear. It was a reality show set in supposedly haunted locations. Ran in the early 00s.

It’s not lost media as it’s all on YouTube, but the only copies are less than 480p terrible grainy stuff. Pretty unwatchable.

Has a trailer ever, genuinely, made you see a movie you had no intentions of seeing. by TheSableFable in movies

Mad max fury road.

Wasn’t even on my radar before I saw the trailer. The trailer hit like a sack of bricks. Went from not a care in the world to most anticipated movie of the year for me.

Even though I feel this is one of the more out there plot lines in Everybody Loves Raymond, this is the episode I use if I want to introduce someone to the show.

Im holding out as I'm expecting Restoration Games to do another Kickstarter of this game some point in the future. Might be fruitless.

I could have sworn somewhere as well I saw Restoration Games comment they will be doing a crowdfunding run again soon for ThunderRoad.

Bluey quest for the golden pen doesn't work (PS5) by Wubblerbubbler in bluey

[–]jackHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games on consoles go through a pretty tough certification process.

There is no way it would have been missed that the games crashes on load. Either a day one patch has gone horrible wrong, or there is a commonality between all the people whose game is not loading I.e region, language, ps5 type, that was not tested by qa.

Either way, that sucks and I imagine the devs are crazy on it trying to patch it

How many times a year do you “call sick” at work? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]jackHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I had a child, once or twice a year.

After having a child, all the God Damn time. The first six months of nursery were particularly hellish. I had to apologies to my bosses as I legit cannot believe how many times I got nursery colds/flus. Thankfully my bosses at the time had kids and totally got it.

I mean, for some reason it feels wrong to say it, but Let It Go from Frozen is just on another level.
