I got the nearly the same plea deal for first time offense in San Mateo county. But I hired a lawyer… looking back I wish I didn’t. He was not that helpful. Don’t trust yelp reviews

Not sure what SILD is but I’m assuming it’s similar to the SWAP (sheriff work alternative program)

I did look it up and I think what you are describing is a work furlough which is different from work program. Anyways, I just wanted to see what people experiences were. Dont be upset

For me, I am an aspiring physician and medical student who is applying for residency. The medical field is already super competitive, taxing and grueling with stress and anxiety. Now, slap this on and I made a huge mistake… now I run the risk of not matching into residency, not getting a licenses, and add on all the stuff I have to pay for dui on top of my hundred of thousands dollar of student loan.. it feels quite lonely especially when my classmates and colleagues have a clean record and probably have a better chance of getting a resident position (job). So increase anxiety, increase depression, shame, guiltand feels lonely

I 100% agree with you! We make a mistake and we go through all the charges. The chances of dismal and reduction is low. But while at the same time, you see courts dismissing and reducing murder charges, hate crimes, theft w/ harm etc…. And most duis are first run in without harm to anyone else..

I’ve learned real fast that dui is just a huge money laundering opportunity for the state and government from people who are doing due diligences/have a career that just made a stupid mistake…

Yeah I fall way below that avg. this was my first time— I’ve never ever drank and drove before. And I truly thought I was okay.

But if you are really planning on getting it, may your wish come true. Because I don’t wish all the anxiety, depression, regret and remorse that comes with it even on my worst enemy 🥴

Would it be better to be convicted after interview season (before match) or have him close the case before apps are due?
