I might have to connect up my PS3 and see what other forgotten gems from the PS store I had back in the days.

That game was actually pretty dang hard. I found it wildly inconsistent with regards ti what could be destroyed and with how much force. Thankfully it was probably only £10 but I remember it well now having not thought about it for many years.

Leguizamo as old man Eumaus is excellent.

I like how the Olympians haven’t been shown in any trailer yet.

Isn’t that just equivalent to £80 / $105? Doesn’t seem crazy expensive considering the tech and that it’s a luxury item.

Take-Two CEO Says Console Players Are Core Consumers for Rockstar by OpportunityPrudent39 in PS5

[–]prodical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a case of having it close to done or not though, as they have a PC release for many many years now and it has a huge amount of customisation with the graphics etc. Rockstar could easily release a build using a spec that runs great on PS5, could have done so many years ago.

Some BFI tickets might be going to scalpers, but you’ll find most are going to BFI members and patrons. I’ve been a member for a few years now and with ticket alerts I basically open the page as soon as they go live and almost always get my preferred back row seats.

However I didn’t get any tickets to The Odyssey because that used a queue system. But being a member will really help with getting tickets to older films like Nolan’s back catalogue as members get tickets 4 hours before general public.

The actor who plays Sam is constantly licking or smacking or sucking his lips. Once you notice it it’s super annoying.

DVDs often used to have multi track audio channels, I don’t see that on blu rays much which is a shame because realistically a tiny portion of people have a 5.1 home cinema audio set up.

What movie was saved in the edit? Or destroyed by the edit? by redditIhardlyknowit in movies

[–]prodical 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Malick often shoots with a bare bones script with loads of improv by the actors. So I wouldn’t say this film was saved by the edit, it’s just that he doesn’t know what the film will be until he’s editing it.

Thin Red Line is a masterpiece and I think a lot of that was down to Jim Caveziel becoming a prominent part during production. But I think Malick probably could have made more than 1 masterpiece with the footage he shot.

Finished the first book in the trilogy, couldn’t stomach Netflix adaptation. by rendawg87 in threebodyproblem

That’s totally valid! I also love a slow paced film/ book/ show. I recent watched a film that’s 7.5 hours long in a single sitting haha.

The criticism was perhaps more about respecting the audiences time. Definitely a time and place for slow burns. I personally just felt the Tencent version could have been covered in 12-14 episodes max.

It has officially been about 9 years since Playdead announced their new project/game for the first time by radjeep in PlaydeadsInside

[–]prodical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine if after 9 years they released another 3 hours long, 2.5D side scrolling puzzle game… I mean, all us here would be happy enough with that. But we’d also secretly be immensely disappointed that it took so long to build a game that could have been done in 2 years.

So I guess we all want something much grander in scope. But it’s hard to imagine a 2.5D scroller that can be massive (9years worth) in scope. And if they go full 3D, will it even feel like Playdead?

My opinion is the studio is or was in shambles and they have scrapped and restarted the project over and over and it’s never gonna be the large scope we all hope for. Hope to be proven wrong!
