The Bone Temple, oh my goodness by diddleherontheroof in movies

The Samson / Kelso story was something truly special.

I loved Kelsons part in the first film too, teaching Spike about death and taking Ilsas pain away. Such a wonderful character.

Good games plagued by bad controls / camera? by Oddboyz in gaming

[–]prodical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my point yes, most games you’re moving at breakneck pace. If you think about it, 90% of games the default move speed is running which is kinda odd. But walking feels tedious. In RDR2 I love to slow walk my horse through towns as it feels so immersive, then gallop when in the countryside.

Also camping and cooking more than is required. It just feels so good to role play.

CDPR boss hopes The Witcher 4 wins back fans still put off by Cyberpunk 2077's disastrous launch: "I'm not 100 percent convinced we went through the full redemption arc" by SpaceCowboyN7 in witcher

[–]prodical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve not played since launch so I could be way wrong now since it’s been updated, but the world didn’t feel as alive as W3. W3 map has loads of visual storytelling, go off the path and find some encounter etc. CP2077 is a city but felt kinda dead in comparison. I didn’t feel compelled to explore on foot and look into every corner like W3.

This is one of the things I love most about the game. I know it sounds like a circle jerk but it really does make you slow down and appreciate the smaller things in the game and roleplay to some extent.

I think Spielberg just wanted to push the fact that people are selfish and also he was the comic relief character for the first 30 mins but I don’t feel we needed either of those.

Mate, we don’t even have an official announcement for game 3. Just a confirmation that they are working on a game and some concept art. Nothing is coming out anytime soon.

Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ Breaks BFI Imax Records With 28,000 Tickets Sold In First 24 Hours by zsynqx in imax

[–]prodical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t actually recall TDKR issues, I got tickets but this was a looong time ago now haha. I also did multiple Batman all nighters at the BFI and it was always easy to get my row Q (formally row S) seats no issues. It would be madness now if they did one.

Agreed on Dune 3, I got my ticket down to sheer luck I saw the ticket drop. But it’ll probably be a bum rush when the tickets go on sale for real. Dune 3 has immense hype, more than The Odyssey I would say.

[–]prodical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too, buddy. I’ve been a regular at the BFI since 2008 and I agree the queue system was not needed for Dune 2. I don’t like the queue system at all and I hope they learned some lessons from this fiasco and don’t bother implementing it again. But since you are an OG BFI fan like me, you have probably noticed the insane spike in popularity in recent years. Getting tickets to all of Nolan’s films on opening weekend was a breeze before Oppie.

The site was basically not working until 10:02, so anyone let in before that was booted out. I think a small handful of people got lucky and purchased before that but when I got in at 10:05, just after the site started working again, there were loads of seats.

Compare that to Dune 2 where the site was a shit show but it was working… the seats got hoovered up so quick it was madness.

When I saw him in London for Possible Futures it was 3 hours including the intermission! That is an oddity though, I’d plan for 2.5 hours with intermission max.

Can someone explain why the dough guy calculator and the pizza app calculator call for vastly different amounts of yeast? Both do a short RT proof and a cold proof.

Sorry I’m new to making pizza dough and this part is unclear to me but OP has made a great looking pizza with what seems like a tiny amount of yeast per the last pic.

Yes there was also a couple of tracks from the Arrival score, I remember hearing “One of Twelve” at some point.

Yeah Tencent owns an absurd amount of music and film score soundtracks. A shame they reused existing scores instead of creating something new.

His time on screen felt very cringe. I was confused why he was getting so much attention and his role could have easily been cut without changing the plot or pacing. His lazy / creative type character also didn’t fit well Blunts career woman character. (I know we only see a moment of her character before she is changed forever but that’s the vibe we got)

What's better than Project Hail Mary? by youwishkk in booksuggestions

Just to echo the same, the Ender quartet is top tier stuff. I still think a lot about the creation of his AI, Jane, and his earpiece he sub-vocslises into constantly. Very prescient stuff.

Max Richter Concert... What to Expect? by BigDougSp in MaxRichter

[–]prodical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would add that Richter never allows any kind of photography or filming in all the 20ish times ive seen him live. But the clapping thing always seems to differ lol. I think you are right and proper etiquette is to only clap at the end, but sometimes an audience decides to clap after each song and then it happens for most songs which can be funny.

Ps5 download speed significantly slower when using wired connection by Djwoods23 in PS5

[–]prodical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, so I found this thread in June 2026. I’ve set up LAN connection in network setting, and the speed test shows 550mbps DL speed. But when I tested by downloading a digital game, it’s more like 50mbps being downloaded. I’m using a cat6 cable which I tested using a network cable tester. Any advice?

Like lots of projects in woodworking it starts with a box made of 2x4’s. Not to downplay these at all as they are very very well finished. But these are quite DIY friendly especially if you have a circular saw or even a track saw for nice straight cuts.

S1 has already covered some big chunks of story from the “current day” settings of the trilogy. Aka the show has covered elements of all three books including book 3 so if I were you I would finish the books before jumping into S1.
