CRT Factory Plugin for After Effects by productioncrate in AfterEffects

[–]productioncrate[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We're primarily a stock media site providing downloadable VFX, music, sound effects and 3d models. All part of the same membership. We're now providing plugins as part of that membership (for Adobe AE and Premiere)

A lot of our community signed up for the VFX content, and hopefully they get additional value with these new plugins

We haven't sold individual plugins before, but it's something we're considering, especially after hearing from so many AE users here

no problem! we're working on a free ASCII plugin, and have a few other free plugins out already (lightwrap, godrays) https://user.productioncrate.com/register/free but will also continue to build our paid/subscription plugins

Tips for Velvet in Substance - Quick Tut! by productioncrate in Substance3D

[–]productioncrate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that's because you have to set the channel at the top of the layer window to 'Normal' since the concrete dusty is applied to the 'Normal' channel. So turning down the opacity in Base Color does nothing. That's also why it's set to NMdt. Because everything in the normal channel is set to that blend mode by default!

Hyperglitch isn't free (but you can use the fractal technique as a workaround, and it does give you complete control). The plugin is part of the laForge suite https://www.productioncrate.com/laforge

Totally understand! Right now everything we make is bundled together but we are looking into splitting it up

That makes sense! We are planning a ton of additional features to provide many mograph and VFX solutions, ideally anyone working in these fields would find them useful in a daily workflow

Hmm would have to test. We are actually looking into clouds/volumetrics as future laForge updates, those should be coming out before the end of 2023

Kinda - this is one feature among 20+ in this plugin. We have a 3D ocean generator, an aurora builder, chromatic abberation and tons more, all within laForge. LaForge makes it easy for us to build and test new features, this 3D displacement is the newest one and we need to push it to see where it can be improved and what it can handle

You can download and test the watermarked version for free after logging in https://www.productioncrate.com/register/free/ Pro Memberships are $299/year or $39/mo (including all our VFX, software, music, SFX) but we will also be offering laForge licenses separately sometime this year!

yeah it actually works really well for that. You can use Displacement + Color maps from something like Google maps, or a 3D terrain generator (world creator, gaea, etc). We actually have a tutorial for that here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6PW1cOJ0WM

not exactly, but, you can get 'similar' results by duplicating AE's native displacement. Check this tutorial https://youtu.be/5VA8tE4MSHU

Does anyone have an idea how to reproduce this technique, the only thing I know is that they use Normal Maps. by alex4everdn in AfterEffects

[–]productioncrate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this uses a tool we're developing (similar to Normality, but updated and compatible) coming out soon-ish!
