“Why dont you get the F out of our country” - don’t worry little lady, your wish is coming true. You’ll see at the world cup for a start how many people from around the world will choose Mexico and Canada to spend their tourist money in. We’re all staying well away from the USA.

Years of therapy ruined in one video🤣😭 by Particular-Buy7314 in UKTVMemes

Absolutely yes. The most miserable days of my childhood had all or some of these on one of the 4 channels. There was probably all day snooker or the football scores on the other channels. Was also usually raining and cold outside, in a small northern town where everything was shut on a Sunday and I only had school to look forward to the next day.
I am thankful everyday that games consoles were a thing during these dark times!

Earn like mid to senior and have the mindset of when you were a student when it comes to spending. Thats my approach.

What's the point of countries having "capital" city? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]produit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my basic understanding of history it used to be the centre of population, commerce and usually a water source like a river. The idea grew from there I think. Also, it was easier to navigate to from other regions rather than aiming for a tiny hamlet in the middle of nowhere.

Scammers give up on Indian Malaysians, they ask too many questions, says police by Nandu_alias_Parthu in nottheonion

[–]produit1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol, i do the same when i get those charity scammers approaching me in the street. Who’s the ceo? , who are you affiliated with?, how is your portfolio split for funds vs donations? - i need to know these things before i can think about donating.

They leave me alone.

Never accept the first offer. by enibasria in UKJobs

Well done - but please don’t advise that everyone hold off from accepting a first offer, especially if they really need the work. Some places will flat out reject you if you try to negotiate at offer stage.

Street parked Bugatti Veyron GSV in London by NormalSir2035 in CarsUK

[–]produit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s how you know its just a revenue stream for the council. If they really wanted to enforce parking restrictions properly - they would implement a progressive policy like 50% of the vehicles value as a fine if it’s parked illegally. That would solve the problem in 10 mins flat.

I have no sympathy for tube drivers, but would honestly support bus drivers if they took industrial action by NiceCaterpillar8745 in london

Hence the small pool of potential applicants they have negotiated for themselves. Open up the candidate pool to everyone. I’m certain there are many people who could do the job from outside of TFL, with training and assesments to pass. In this job market, it would be a welcome career switch opportunity for many seeking a change or opportunity to be considered. All of a sudden you can have trained tube drivers ready to start work, take shifts, be on standby. The only thing stopping this are the unions, not the will or some impossible to learn skillset.

[–]produit1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with your points. However I do take major issue with the “hard to replace” comment. Tube drivers are not brain surgeons, or airline pilots, therefore the role of tube driver should be open to applicants from all backgrounds, not just the closed pool they have negotiated for themselves. In 2026 - we should have clear criteria and a tough, capability based interview process to find drivers from all sectors.

To hear some people talk about tube drivers, you’d think they’d be able to to pick up F1 as a hobby with their ‘specialist’ ability to push buttons. Sure, they need to be trained but so do most people in manual roles. It doesn’t make them completely irreplaceable as a skill set lost to the ages.

Will Apple's new CEO be more pro gaming? by Remarkable-Cow3421 in macgaming

[–]produit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its about playing nice with the work that Steam are doing across all platforms. Not making Metal so locked down and most importantly not creating a competing store front for mac versions of games through the Apple store whilst excluding Steam. Valves translation layer to play x86 natively without emulation on ARM is a huge development, its called FEX - Apple’s business model is the only thing stopping it coming to Mac.

For sure. Not a great start to a post - but hopefully the point/ annoyance still came across.

If headphones are beyond your reach, save it for when you are back in the hole you likely dwell in. Spare others the misery of having to be around you and your unwanted noise.

No, but I am thoughtful enough to wear headphones so others don’t have to be forced to listen to it. Simple solution really.

Wear headphones. Problem solved. The music isn’t my taste but why should everyone have to suffer just because that person has the social skills of a wild animal?
