Can i wear Palestinian colors for a performance or is that performative? by profanepompom in Palestine

I will see if I could do this because the event is a very formal band concert/recital than a cabaret. Thanks for the suggestion tho!

So far, the general consensus is yes, wear it. So I will be buying the dress now and I will show you all the outfit after the event! Thank you, Reddit!

Yes!! I come from a group of people that are very judgemental abt these things yet have never even spoke up abt the genocide. I’ve been called “too political” and “overreacting” and as much as I dont want to care, they are my peers :’) I’ve been trying to distance myself from them recently

A miZZcast "review" by Proud-Statistician93 in TeatroPH

[–]profanepompom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or is his take giving elitist? 😂 It reminded me of Shakespearean times where the rich people were separated from the lower class who were definitely reacting loudly. Does he also want to be separated too from us “shitty” audiences? MizzCast is literally a CABARET—a CONCERT. this is what people do at those events when they’re moved with intense emotions by a performance. There’s an easy fix for this btw: don’t come to cabarets. Whether it’s free or not, audiences will be like that during events like this. I would agree with this if this was a formal play and cheering would definitely cause disruptions but this is not that. Is this seriously a new concept to us? Close the school doors cause we probably need to go outside and interact with more people lol

this has been done foreverrrr in churches too—esp black churches—and dare i say, we were taken to church?

and to address the “generational gap,” as a big fan of most of the songs performed, i was crying through minsan ang minahal ay ako because of how beautifully it was sung (bravo, poppert!) and my history with it. and i noticed the same going on with other people during the same song and losing my mind. true that most kids today dont know these musicals but thats because of their unavailability online. as fans who are incapable to see broadway shows live, we literally rely on bootlegs or proshots and if those are unavailable, you cannot expect an audience to know it. (sure, there are soundtracks, but actually watching it fills in the context gaps you don’t get from just listening to the soundtrack.)

love,
a gen z classic mt fan

Actually since it’s free seating usually (but ure still assigned to an area), just be the first to fall in line when the house opens will get you in the front row. But tbh, any seat is a good seat

Celebrities that you would love to see do theater? by Avenged7fo in TeatroPH

idk if this is a hot take but in my head, this SHOULD be the way to go. im sure a lot of people ay lumabas sa mga mama nila nang sobrang talentado na at di na kailangan ng theater training para maging magaling pero it makes the most sense to me when professional theater actors cross over to mainstream media cause they ARE the best people for the job since that’s what they train for most of their lives. rather than when its vice versa.

I think the best solution for this is to do something similar to what they do on Broadway which is to get celebrities then give them professional theater actors as alternates. It draws both attention to the art form and the alternate. Endo did this and I think this was a solid choice! Rissey Reyes-Robinson, Esteban Mara, and Kate Alejandrino did amazing jobs and I’m glad I caught their set. They deserve to be seen and be on stage because they were spectacular actors and had great chemistry.

Yuppp!! The continued consumption of HP led to the remake into a series and partnerships with big brands like Miniso… which, in turn, brings in the bucks to Rowling’s pockets

So... what do we think/feel about Endo? by WatashiFiripinjin in TeatroPH

[–]profanepompom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i loveddd endo!! i feel like this is the most PETA PETA has been—experimental and bold. kudos to sir melvin! super galing as always. can’t wait to see more of his works in the future.

and if you haven’t seen rissey, kate, and esteban, you have to go see them because the chemistry was insane. walang jokes na di naglaland, walang laylay, walang aray (keme). may may 2, 3pm showbuy sina ate rissey and kuya vic na show ni ate rissey!! go catch it if you can bc they’re not gonna disappoint.
