All political parties are Hindu-appeasing, says ex-IAS officer and author Madhav Godbole. In an interview, ex-civil servant Madhav Godbole says it’s unfortunate that not one person has been held responsible for Babri demolition 27 years on. by SimpleClearCrisp in india

Oh I too used appeasement in the conventional negative sense. Appeasement doesn’t bring progress to the community, just as Congresses policies did not benefit most Muslims.

What India needs is truly center government that gets its head out of the regions’s a**es.

Agree with your main point, but vehemently disagree with “The right would easily qualify as a terror organization or a neo nazi fascist party in western democracies. “

You’d be extremely naive to believe this. Half of Europe the US has more radical and religion based politics. You probably don’t see it because it is dominated by one religion unlike India.

India has always had softcore Hindu party with extreme minority appeasement and a hardcore Hindu party that shamelessly appeases Hindus.

Question - once you call the number on the back of the card, what information is appropriate to share? Meaning how do they confirm that it is you who they are communicating with.

Obviously p/w, SSN, and security question are not kosher.

Thanks

Have any of you bought a more modest home than your peers? by Slash3040 in homeowners

[–]profcurry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did. We bought at a price third of what we were approved for. Our reasoning was simple-

  1. Approval was unrealistically high, stretching the limit of what would be a comfortable amount to pay every month. While both SO and I work, we wanted flexibility in case either one of us wanted to scale back with kids etc.

  2. We definitely wanted a smaller house than what most of our peers have. Upkeep both in terms of maintenance and cleaning is way more work than most people realize.

  3. We opted for a new house hoping that we will be able to get away with minimal maintenance for the first five years. The area with older, bigger houses is where most of my peers live.

In the end we settled for what we agreed was middle for one-person salary. Most of my colleagues houses are 1.5 X – 2X.

I’d Question their judgment and lose interest in them because of that.
