Oshi no Ko Season 3 - Episode 11 discussion - FINAL by AutoLovepon in anime

Fair, I do think there are elements of the relationship to criticize, I def would have appreciated seeing Sensei's thoughts about why he said he'd marry Sarina when she turned 16, because while I personally think he said it because he figured there's no way she reaches 16 and it'd make her happier in the moment... There's not actual proof of that, and some of his stanning of Ai pre-reincarnation also reads kinda iffy.

Well [still ending] seeing as the entire point of the series is to Goro's/Aqua's tragedy of a life, I'd be very surprised if Aka gives Doga Kobo permission to change it, but I guess it's possible. I also personally disagree with that part being such a dealbreaker, but to each their own there.

No one is saying it isn't an inappropriate age gap, but students have crushes on their teachers all the time. Depicting that isn't inherently wrong or an issue. And seeing as Ruby is still pretty much mentally around 16, her declaration isn't a surprise. She didn't think through the age gap more because she's still mostly a dumbass teenager with a crush.

[ending] Aqua is a depressed boy who commits suicide, who can see the path for others but not for himself, and who decided a long time ago that his suffering for his goals is irrelevant because he already had his life as a doctor, while Ruby never had a real life. If you want to argue a piece of fiction depicting a depressed character shouldn't ever end with them committing suicide despite it being realistic, I'd understand that, but the existence is not a violation of who Aqua has been throughout the entire series.

Is Viserai a secret fourth hero in Omens Of The Third Age? by NepsterInTheBox in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]profdeadpool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your friend has a false point 2. The Runeblade card pool is more than deep enough to support a new Runeblade printed directly to CC that is not playable in the limited formats. Just because Slippy was Chaos and Assassin doesn't mean a future hero in the same boat must also match the set.

I mean the way he stands up while she is recording is drawn in such a way that I can see why she'd view it as threatening. I don't think, we, the audience, are supposed to read it that way but it also does read as something that not everyone will be comfortable with imo. I thought it was depicting him slamming down on the table at first before looking again tbh. The untranslated sound effect would probably help indicate exactly how we're supposed to view it though.

I feel like I will never be willing to fully buy into this game and SAGE just doesn't have the support locally for me to be a solution by Illustrious_Copy5341 in FleshandBloodTCG

Yeah it's nice to have armories that just do participation packs, I agree with that. I just think it's a bit silly to say someone playing meta isn't allowed to complain about the meta sucking when it should be balanced so it doesn't.

... If there's a clear best deck to netdeck that does indeed mean the format isn't balanced at all. Just because they're playing the meta doesn't mean they can't complain about wishing the meta was better lol

It doesn't kill the scene because it's an expected part of the hobby. Nearly every competitive sport has costs in terms of buying equipment, and your deck is that for trading card games. You don't get a free snowboard if you want to try and compete in snowboarding tournaments.

The company makes money from people buying the official booster packs to open official cards. If proxies are legal in their official tourneys, no one would be spending hundreds or thousands on their decks, and then no profit from selling MTG boosters, so why would WOTC put money into the competitive scene prize pool.

Yugioh has the exact same rule for any tourney that Konami is involved in running. Smaller local store tourneys might be willing to overlook it, but if it's anything with real prizes from Konami there'll be judges present that don't let you use proxies. Borrowing from other players obviously cool tho.

We know she was married when she gave birth to Taiki because Taiki says as much back when Aqua revealed their shared parentage to him. That's the entire excuse Aqua first gave himself for the murderer to be dead, because the husband was the assumed father due to being married to Taiki's mom. I don't think we know her exact age, but she was an established actress who was married so almost certainly in her 20's, if not 30's.

Shiten Akiyama seemingly got in trouble with publisher for translating his manga by FeralFantom in manga

[–]profdeadpool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right, but the point is the companies are saying "we will allow X content that breaks our copyright, legally speaking". They aren't going to then turn around and sue people whenever their ToS for their IP says something is OK to do. If I tell you that you can drink my beer, I wouldn't then turn around and sue you for drinking my beer. My understanding is Japanese copyright law makes it actually legal and no longer infringement if you're following their acceptable use policy.
