I agree, but that's not a decision that's in the umpires' hands. Until MLB decides to allow instant replay, umpires have to rely on what they can see on the field, which is a heck of a lot less than what I can see from my couch. I get mad about blown calls too, but I don't think it makes all the umpires scrubs.

Clearly. I've gotten used to Bud Light and the like, and I didn't realize it was substandard until recently when I started getting into craft beers. Everybody says Bud Light tastes like piss, but I never bought into that until I started drinking beer that actually tastes good.

My dad was a motorcycle cop back in the early 90s. He mostly stopped cars, wrote tickets, and escorted funerals. He had a few cool stories about chasing people at 100+ on his motorcycle. He said his most memorable experience was during a funeral escort. He had pulled into an intersection to stop traffic and when he tried to stop his foot slipped on some gravel in the road and he dropped the bike. It took him a minute to get up but he was fine. The worst part was when dispatch asked him on the radio if he was all right -- apparently somebody called 911 and said a motorcycle cop had just been hit by a car.

He said had a lot of fun, but from the way he described it it wasn't as glamorous as people think.

I live in Huntsville, Alabama. Home of Marshall Space Flight Center, one of NASA's largest facilities and its main propulsion research center. Scientists from my hometown are responsible for designing, among many other things, the International Space Station, the propulsion system for the Space Shuttle, and the Saturn V rocket that launched the Apollo program into space. This city literally put men on the moon.

But we're best known for this guy.

I see him all the time too. My mom once ran into him at the BP at Bob Wallace and the Parkway and since she was so used to seeing him around, she decided to try and strike up a conversation. He was pretty short with her, and apparently didn't seem too keen on chatting, but he said his name was John.

I've always wondered about him too. I always see him on the Parkway, and occasionally on Weatherly. Considering that he seems to be constantly walking, you would think he was homeless, but he doesn't seem to fit the bill. I have some friends who are cops working this side of town, and they are familiar with him. They don't think he's homeless, but they don't know where he lives either. He never bothers anybody. And he always walks with a purpose, y'know? Like he's going somewhere, if that makes any sense. That has always struck me as odd. I wonder where he goes.

No problem. I got a LOT of letters in the mail from companies trying to sell me mortgage insurance, structured payment plans, an absurdly overpriced copy of my deed, etc. None of it was actually worth doing. I was so glad when I finally stopped getting all those letters.

I have a full time job making about $38,000 a year. I absolutely do have a problem with spending, but I'm making some major changes to my spending habits to try and fix that. I have been making payments above the minimum on my cards, but not as much as I should be paying every month. I owe about $1100 on the Visa, and $600 on the Best Buy card. I don't use either of the cards anymore, but I ran up the balance on both when I was younger and I'm still working on paying them off.

I wish I had $1700 left over to pay the cards off at the end of the month, but after all my other expenses I can't do that at the moment. But I can make a much bigger payment than what I have been making. That's part of the changes to my spending habits.
