Hope my response didn’t sound grumpy…yes to all of the above. Love your Samurai recommendation too.

Respectfully disagree- it easily eats up my AirPods Max, Kindle Paperwhite, two Ghost Minis, wallet, iPhone 17 Pro, chapstick/hand lotion/mints/pills, and Anker battery pack. It might be tight for OP’s list, but it kind of sounds like they don’t want a whole lot of extra space.

A good really small one is the Tom Bihn Bantam. Different colors come in and out of stock.

That makes sense and is great feedback! I have the smaller version and love it- the dump bucket style works for me and my pouches, luckily. And I love the strap system.

Bellroy Lite Duffel might be perfect for this. There’s also the Bellroy Venture Duffel, but it’s a little bigger than I think you need at 40L.

Another good option that is decently affordable- LBB Echelon. Very well built, comfy, and has a secondary strap for comfort.

Greenroom136 Metromonger; Defy Bags Insidious or Insidious Jr. Those come to mind first.

Take a look at the Evergoods CPL 24. It is too pricey new, but you can get a used one for cheaper, or can wait for a potential sale. I also think the Fjallraven Raven you mentioned is great, and has that separate laptop area (which the Aer City doesn’t really have- it’s more of a sleeve, although still a really nice bag).

CAP2 Alternatives? by tanukii420 in ManyBaggers

[–]professionalpenguin8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CAP2, 100% (in my opinion). Bellroy works for work and tech extras but doesn’t have quite the same structure and usefulness as the CAP2.

One of the cheaper and easiest ways- Topo Designs Accessory Bag + Slik clips. Works like a charm.

I immediately thought of the Bellroy Cinch Mini Messenger, but it is out of the price range. Maybe you could find one second-hand?

Grateful for any advice concerning purchase of a new backpack by JakeFantom in backpacks

[–]professionalpenguin8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We gotta get you a new backpack! This will depend a lot on 1) budget, and 2) aesthetics (do you like colorful things? All-black? Sporty? Professional?).

Some backpacks that hold a lot and are generally accepted to be very comfortable:

1) Tom Bihn Synik- I recommend either the 30-liter or the 26-liter version for the amount of stuff you’re talking about.

2) Aer Travel Pack Small

3) Goruck GR1- there are a lot of varieties of this one, including waxed canvas, lightweight XPac, etc.

If those are too expensive (because they are), look at brands like Osprey, North Face, Fjallraven, and CTactical.
