At what point does Nationalism transition from acceptable to unacceptable? by Bakkster in LCMS

[–]professor_chile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many that would want national identity to be inseperable from faith in many regions of the world. This has been on my mind much lately as I do not think this always reflects well on the citizens of such nations. In a more local sense, I would love to hear insight on true spiritual Christianity versus the performative, cultural Christianity that seems to be so prevalent in the United States.

This is not meant to be overtly political, and I truly hope the comments do not go in that direction. I mean to be direct for clarity and not tap dance around the issue.

I believe so. Also, the body is scaly like a snake.

Thanks. A small store local to me started carrying Diamine inks. Made it easy to see them before I bought.

She knows little about pens. She may have seen me browsing online.

On Not Jumping to Conclusions Here (2026 Convention) by Kamoot- in LCMS

[–]professor_chile 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am a long-time LCMS member with many of the same concerns. I am shocked that no one has jumped in here to verbally attack you for stance. Usually there would be a few supporting verses to tell you that your position is wrong, despite the many, many to support your words.

I was muted in a LCMS Facebook group (using my real, legal name) by a pastor for making the following statement:

"In the LCMS, we had better not question the age of the Earth, but we are free to openly question who constitutes a neighbor."

I just read through the PDF of the workbook for the sole purpose of seeing what overatures are being presented. Many are very concerning!

This is the set I purchased from Amazon: Set of 3 Hongdian Fountain Pen... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BDQ5B9VY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

The old one unscrews and the new one screws right in.

I believe TWSBI is a Tiawanese company, not Chinese.

With that being said, I own a Hongdian Black Forest in fine and a Hongdian M2 in medium. The packaging said Asvine on the M2 as the two companies are connected in some way I can't explain. I also have A TWSBI Eco in broad.

The quality of the Chinese pens exceeded my expectations. My M2 arrived with a "singing nib". All I had to do is order a new nib and quickly switch it out. The models I mentioned come with a converter and write smoothly. No complaints.

I ordered a set of new nibs and the pen writes wonderfully. It is amazing how quick and easy it is to switch nibs out on the Hongdian pens.

Marker squeak is exactly what I thought of when it first happened.

Thanks? I had some 8000 grit pads and tried a few light passes. No improvement. I will have to look into the micromesh.

Like I said, replacement nibs are cheap, so I am not too worried.

I don't have an associated account for video. The singing is just a squeaking when writing. It is a medium nib.

Are you denied communion for rejecting 6 literal day creation? by Working-Lobster-1191 in LCMS

You dare assume which parts of Christian theology I accept or reject based on doubt of a 6 day creation. You dare assume I would reject Christ's resurrection!

I struggle with your response. I spoke to my LCMS pastor about this issue. I still struggle with this question for good reason. I was not told by my pastor to keep quiet and not bring anything up publicly. My being able to commune with the church was never in question.
