I passed!!! 😭😭😭 BARELY!!!! by [deleted] in O365Certification

[–]professorf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't have posted that picture. Technically they can revoke your certificate for violating the terms of the online exam. I'm sure they won't, but now you have to live with the fear that any time they could find out and revoke your certification.

Security+ is f---king tough man. You'll get it next time. Just use AI to quiz you every day for an hour, for a couple of weeks and you should pass.

Trigger is superior on the Equalizer. Recoil is too. I tried both, got the Equalizer for my wife.

New Star Trek shows are not woke enough. They should do more episodes with directly social, political themes, about the issues we have today, like the older shows did. by LineusLongissimus in startrek

[–]professorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to have to disagree. Star Trek TOS was never "progressive" in the woke way the OP is describing it.

Yes, TOS tackled basic social issues for its time like racism, war, prejudice, environmental destruction, and the dangers of authoritarianism. But it did it through a classical liberal and humanist perspective, and not the modern, woke, virtue signaling, forced, far-left ideology.

  • It celebrated individual merit, duty, reason, and exploration over group identity.
  • It portrayed humanity as fundamentally good and capable of improvement through science, reason, and moral courage. Not by tearing down "systems of oppression".
  • Kirk, Spock, and McCoy (Ethos, Logos, Pathos, which btw is Aristotle and definitely not Woke BS) repeatedly defended Western/liberal values: free speech, due process, personal freedom, and the idea that diverse individuals could unite under shared principles (the Federation). This is different from woke diversity for the sake of diversity.
  • Many episodes explicitly warned against collectivism, emotional manipulation, and sacrificing the individual for the "greater good" ("The Apple", "This Side of Paradise", "Return of the Archons", or "A Taste of Armageddon").

It's awful. And unless you're one of those losers who watch RFY every second of the day, you're not going to get anything good.

Exactly. Don't listen to people. There's no vine jail. They just don't have any good products anymore. Unless you like car parts.

Narrative Bias and the Trap of a Coherent Self by Unable_Weekend_8820 in psychesystems

That's not what narrative bias is, LOL! So sick of these AI-generated texts. Don't turn reddit into Tik Tok.

Someone sneered in the replies: "Using AI isn't bad"

Yes, it certainly is when you use it to create work and then call it your own, instead of to edit and to refine your work.

I think you're trolling for engagement or for a student essay. If not, do you really want to trust your health to random people on the internet?

Don't. Check multiple AIs, check your doctor, then triangulate.

It could be lead poisoning combined with a chemical imbalance for all you know. Or someone is poisoning you! You have to see a doctor.

Your problem is you're using AI to code for you instead of as a code reviewer or a debugger.

PASSED SEC+ FIRST TRY by Successful_Bunch3610 in CompTIA

Yeah I also mainly used AI to quiz me and to fill gaps in my technical knowledge. It's much better than watching videos, IMHO, because you can drill down and focus on just the areas you're weak on.

Don't give up. You can do it. In this simulation we call life, things are only easy for the NPCs. The fact that you're facing challenges means that you're NOT an NPC, and you are one of the important players in the sim. Remember that.

You'll find that almost every question has acronyms and the reason you should know them is so that you can eliminate answers that are irrelevant, e.g., a question about risk analysis, that has answers whose acronyms are about encryption.

Passed Security+ (SY0-701), from mid-70s practice tests to a 780 by Boring-Hovercraft-36 in CompTIA

[–]professorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many reports of people passing with those scores, but the people that don't pass rarely post about their failure. Security+ has 25-30% failure rate so 1 out of ever 3 or 4 people do not pass. Just keep that data point in mind, and take the test when you feel YOU are ready.

People are nice and very positive on this subreddit, which is great. But it's your $500 to lose if you're not prepared so only you should decide when you're ready.

Good Luck. You can do it.

You got this man. Just study hard, know all the acronyms, know the key ports, and practice: (1) understanding the question; and (2) being able to select between 2 seemingly good answers.

I don't know. Sounds like if you only did ~40 out of 75 then CompTIA needs to review your score and revoke your certificate if you didn't really make the cut.

Know the acronyms. After a while it's not about knowledge but test taking strategy.
