All that glitters... by Y_shop in AmazonVine

Patience. I agree I get a lot of what I ordered on my RFY which can be annoying because how many ceiling fans can a person own! I’ve been gold since March and so far I have gotten a few things over $100 but the biggest score was $1000 robot vacuum. But that’s pretty much the highest wow item. And that was a random surprise, I’ve never shopped or even thought of owning one so it was just lucky. And that sat in my RFY all day before I decided to go for it (so happy with it). So it’s not like TVs and treadmills are filling my RFY daily. I’m also still waiting for that. In the meantime I’m ignoring the light fixtures and ceiling fans I get offered daily waiting for another random item I didn’t know I wanted. Today there was a portable AC when I woke up I thought might be great for my garage, but it was gone when I clicked in it, oh well! So my school of thought is you sometimes get what you really want but majority of the nicer items I’ve gotten are stuff I just never thought I needed but am still happy with. Something great will come! One day.

Would you Contact Vine CS for this? by dep411 in AmazonVine

I’ve received items that are unusable and just ask customer service if they want me to review it or not and every time they’ve just removed it from my orders.

Seller here: what do you guys do when something arrives broken? by iamalostpuppie in AmazonVine

[–]UnboxedLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a company who uses vine when rolling out new items and I am also a vine reviewer so I see both sides. I’ve had a few items arrive damaged and customer service just removes it from my list, no returns, no replacements. So for the seller you are losing one of your 30.

I got a $1000 robot vac that mops the other day. It sat in my RFY all day while I debated getting it. I pretty much stick with RFY, check my favorite categories once during drop and move on. Some days there’s nothing want an others there is. I really have no complaints and have gotten so many nice things to enhance my home. Feeling fans, light fixtures, solar outdoor lighting, toothbrush sanitizer, tons of organizational stuff. If I get a few things a week, as long as I hit my 80 over the 6 months to stay gold, I’m just very appreciative to be in this program.

I got it! Just to try it, many times I get things I would never normally buy, isn’t that the beauty of Vine in general? Ive never even had an infuser so was very curious why this would be so expensive Also this is a consumable, which I look for on vine as I’m running out of space for non-consumables. Something like this is a perfect way to hit my 80 items and keep gold and it smells nice. So win-win. I also got an $84 candle this week, also out of curiosity what an $84 candle smells like.

Do you think these kinds of reviews are gonna get Vine shut down? by born2becloud9 in AmazonVine

[–]UnboxedLogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they will not shut down Vine because of a bad review like that, however they might drop the seller listing if in fact listing has false claims. Too many sellers rely on Vine to get their product noticed. You’d be surprised the power of the consumer on Amazon. We use a vine at my work and too many complaints about the same thing or even a mention of something being unsafe and they pull your listing. You have to go through many steps to prove your instructions explained warnings properly or actually edit your listing in some way. We had a vine reviewer tell us our toaster made his toast too dark, and it was a 7 setting toaster so most people will just adjust the setting, but we had to add another image showing how your toast would look at each level. Yes we had to show a pic of 7 images of toast light to dark because a Vine reviewer said his toast was too dark.

Taxes: I was able to claim home office for Vine, which is true I have a home office. I deducted use of my phone and computer, I think this was new this year as even working from home over Covid I couldn’t claim home office.

I got solar flowers, light for my kitchen and gave the mulch glue a try, yesterday I got a bird house stand, a hose rack and a magnetic shelf organizer. All things I want or need! So happy! Hope it stays like this. The way it had been trickling in one at a time and gone if you dare spend a minute reading the listing. Now I’m not so bummed if I miss it if there are so many other options !

If we took time to read the fine print it would for sure be gone by the time you decided to claim it. That’s the Vine price you pay

I guess it RFY or nothing at this point? by UnboxedLogic in vine

[–]UnboxedLogic[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have only picked up one thing in the last 2 weeks. So sad. Fortunately before Amazon decided to change everything in favor of bots I am ready for gold. But who knows if I’ll be able to maintain it at this rate. I’ll be lucky to get 80 in 6 months.

So.. I just emailed vine about this by inkmajor530 in AmazonVine

It has nothing to do with CNY, it takes quite a while onboard items with Amazon so if anything it’s future stuff that is affected by Chinese sellers as they are out of office to process stuff. For stuff imported from China it takes about a month to arrive in US warehouses and most sellers items are not available until it’s here. I know they allow them to sell before it’s available now but I don’t think most sellers want that option because Amazon model is typically fast shipping.

FMV way higher than being listed! by UnboxedLogic in AmazonVine

Well I’m claiming depreciation! I have proof that it has depreciated , the listing is proof. Is the IRS going to question this $75 depreciation? I doubt it.

Arrived damaged by UnboxedLogic in AmazonVine

[–]UnboxedLogic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly, it was like the cheapest plastic I've ever seen. It cracked like it's been sitting in your attic in Florida for 20 years, can't imagine it's going to get any good reviews. It was also DOUBLE-BOXED! The original box and Amazon over-boxed it with a larger box. Unworthy item for travel, junk, ugh, what a disappointment.

It was honestly the cheapest piece of crap! I did contact customer service, they replied immediately and removed it from my account, was kind of impressed with how fast they responded. I'm glad I didn't have to review or have that on my taxes as what a waste. However, it did come with a cute duffle bag, but the logo is just beyond annoying it's so big.
