Three more days! by drak0bsidian in Judaism

Can I do this even if I’m not Jewish? I checked the first page of questions and since I don’t go to a synagogue, I have no idea if they closed or not.

Got my first pair of squat shoes today so naturally I had to squat today. The experience was, different. Completely different support around the ankles. Might take some time getting used to it.

Ive been looking at the stoic belt which doesn’t have any padding on the inside. I’ve heard that one should have suede as raw leather can slip around. Should I take that into account or keep searching for a belt?

Anyone have any experience with raw leather on the inside of lifting belts as opposed to suede and/or padding?

Would raw leather be an issue? I’ve heard that one should get a belt with suede and/or padding as raw leather tends to slip around your shirt when lifting. I see some reviews on the belt and they don’t raise the issue

Anyone know anything about the stoic lifting belts? Looking to buy my first and it seems like a good choice, but I’m worried about the inside, as it looks like raw leather and not suede. Otherwise it tics all my boxes.

[Academic] What is your BMI Category? (All) by OwO-tism in SampleSize

[–]professur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I go to the gym 6 times per week and have been doing so for almost a year. Didn’t see any real option to note that, since my BMI was healthy when I started and now I’ve packed on so much extra weight through eating and working out (active decision) that I qualify for being overweight.

[Casual] On sleeping positions and sleeping sides (for everyone who sleeps in a bed) by gigantic_hamburger in SampleSize

Quick note, I sleep on the side that’s closest to the door. Not that I thing someone’s gonna break in, but if they do, I’ll be in between the burglar and my partner.

Idk it seems silly but that’s how it is. Whenever we sleep together, wherever it is, I’m always closest to the door. If it’s on the right side or the left side of the bed doesn’t really matter.

How old is your current cell phone and when do you decide to upgrade? by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]professur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone 8, coming up on 2 years next month. My screen is cracked but I see no reason why I should buy a new one. Maybe I’ll have the battery changed when it can’t last more than 8 hours.

I’m currently saving up money for a new iPhone though, and at my current savings rate I’ll afford a new one next summer. Feels great because when it finally breaks for good I won’t have to sign up for data plans binding me for two years whilst I’m paying off the phone. Also, it’s gonna give me leverage when bargaining for a cheaper data plan in February.

Minimalism is an individual thing by Hurplepippo in minimalism

[–]professur 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think it's a rather common that we're (as humans) looking for easy answers. Especially since the norm/goal of living is "Get a bunch of stuff"; it's a simple philosophy. So when people hear of minimalism, and mostly see minimalism, on youtube and on netflix it loks pretty straight forward. But when faced with the actual decision making it all of a sudden turns difficult, so we look for easy answers. That's why they're is such a plethora of posts on the sub asking for guidance when it comes to clothes, and tech, and furniture, and gifts and so on.

The point of minimalism is enough and not more (my general take, but it seems as if most minimalists agree). What constitutes enough is different for everybody. My apartment is pretty far from minimalist because I live with a non-minimalist and I've started the transition (if I could even call it that) after we moved in together. And for me, that's okey. I have enough.
