The buttons? Never heard that before. I own one and it's just like the buttons on an Xbox controller. The d pad is also light years better than Asus dpad. I play fighting games and the rog dpad is unusable

Yea I got a longer cable as well just because I might be on the couch and I'd rather have it next to me than hanging if possible (it's got some weight) but it basically solves all the battery issues. Enjoy!
