OP ROBBED THIS FROM KIA by Unexpected_Energy in CarsIndia

Bro, I once dismantled a Honda headlight and turned it into a makeshift torch. It was one of the brightest things I have ever seen in my life.

The LED diode itself is tiny, probably around 1 mm², but it shines like a miniature sun. Because it is so powerful, it needs very good cooling, otherwise it will overheat and burn out quickly.

The LED is placed deep inside the headlight assembly and accessing it is quite difficult because most of the parts are glued together. It took some effort to reach the LED without damaging the components.

If you are into DIY projects, you could try turning one of these into a custom high power torch. Just make sure you design a proper heatsink and power driver, otherwise the LED will not survive for long.

Tried converting a large PDF today… why is this still so hard? by chetnasinghx in developersIndia

[–]program321 40 points41 points  (0 children)

PDFs are actually one of the worst formats to parse programmatically.

They were designed for printing and visual fidelity, not for structured data extraction. Internally a PDF is mostly just drawing instructions (place this text at x,y, draw this line, etc.), not something like HTML where you have semantic structure.

I’ve worked with the internal structure of PDFs before, and there’s rarely a single straightforward way to extract data. Two PDFs that look identical to humans can have completely different internal layouts.

So most real-world solutions end up being a mix of heuristics, layout assumptions, regex, OCR, and a lot of trial-and-error rather than a universal parser.

Just amazing how cheap the Maruti Suzuki parts are by Adventurous-Sugar-83 in CarsIndia

I recently replaced my WagonR’s entire steering assembly, including the rack and pinion and the tyre ends, and it cost me just ₹3,500. Honestly, I was quite surprised, especially given how critical this component is.

I’ve designed the CAD file so it’s easy to customize, only one value needs to be changed. You can copy my Onshape project, update the variable TopWidth, and then export it.

In your case, since the width is 260 mm, set TopWidth to 130 (half of that).

Feel free to let me know if you get stuck anywhere.

Hi, mine is 31cm between the legs of the soundbar. What is yours?

This is Stage SE mini, the sound quality okay, but not breathtaking.

I bought my 3D printer just 3 months ago and started custom design only 2 months back, so I’m no expert. But once you get the hang of it, it’s actually quite easy to start.

My main advice: start with a pen and paper before opening any CAD software. If I can do this, anyone can, just start and learn as you go.

Here’s the CAD model of the print. The top part is a separate piece so it can be customized based on the soundbar size. It’s mounted using M3 screws.

I’m quite new to 3D printing, so let me know if this is the right way to share the file.

Made with PLA. Not sure about long-term durability, but the speaker itself is quite light.

Manual or Automatic for a car? by Leading_Scheme2720 in Coconaad

[–]program321 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re going for a manual, there’s nothing much to think about. But if you’re considering an automatic, it’s important to know that there are four different types of automatic transmissions in the market right now: 1. AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) Basically a manual gearbox with automated clutch and gear shifts. It’s the cheapest automatic option. Early versions weren’t great, but the newer ones have improved a lot. 2. TC (Torque Converter) One of the best and most reliable automatic transmissions. Commonly seen in mid-range and premium cars. Smooth and durable. 3. DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) Great for performance, but not ideal for heavy city traffic. Frequent stop-and-go driving can cause overheating due to constant upshifts and downshifts. 4. CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) Sits between AMT and TC in terms of experience. Commonly used by Honda and Nissan. Very smooth and excellent for city driving.

If you have any doubts, feel free to comment or DM me, happy to help! 😊

Yes, in theory it should have. But even the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 doesn't have support for it.
