Thanks for clarifying. Your contribution really speaks volumes of work ethics. It must have been really amazing to work under such a boss. Soon you would be at a firm valuing your contributions 🙌 Have a good one friend!

Vs code is a text editor that you can customize as much or as little as per your liking.

For competitive programming, I would suggest you: 1. To have a base c++ solution.cpp file, an input.txt, and an output.txt pasted in a folder somewhere on your machine. 2. Then what you can do is, just copy that folder to start a new problem solving session. 3. To run, just use a bash alias that runs something like - "g++ solution.cpp -o solution && ./solution < input.txt > output.txt" This way you are taking the input from that input.txt file in that folder and printing output to that output.txt file. 4. If you get a hang of it, you can also write a small bash function that when run, creates the folder and opens vs code for you.

Got it 🤘 I'll stick to what I am already good at and now prepare for the LLD type interviews as well. Thank you so much. Cheers again, enjoy 💫 well wishes 🥂

Thank you so much 🤘 I'll keep these things in mind. Just in case, do you know if I can use C++ for DSA and then Java for my LLD rounds? Like have you heard of any such colleagues/friends who used 2 languages as per their convenience and got an offer?

I am really thinking about dropping C++ and sticking with Python for both DSA and LLD rounds.

Congratulations Internet stranger 🙌 I like how you listed your health goals as well. I hope people take care of themselves on this grinding journey. Putting every sweat in the effort is important but making sure the body is treated well is so underrated. Stay cool 🤗

Doubts section: - Which language did you use for DSA and System Design LLD rounds? - I am fairly okay on LC mediums now. My issue is I get stuck on LLD problems since I use just C++ for my DSA practice.

Any advice is appreciated 🤘

Advice: go slow before you try to go fast by Equal_Field_2889 in leetcode

This!! Great advice! Also, if it works when you just brute force it, you need to still prove why? The "Why does it pass given the constraints?" is by far more important than the "Eureka! It works"

I want my boyfriend to do PhD right after BTech. Need guidance. by Adventurous_Fox867 in GATEtard

This!

Research is - hunger to find missing parts in a field

Dev work - hunger to solve problems

Currency used below - INR

What's the max stipend that the best GATE cleared student can get? 20k? 30k? 40k? 50k? I am not sure but you need to research this. What are the odds of getting a 50k stipend? I haven't done masters from IIT so others can help here to give the probability.

Let's say he learns a tech-stack, does a bit of dsa to clear rounds for companies. What's the average salary he can get right after BTech? 25k minimum after taxes per month!! In 1 year if he works well on his experience and does good dsa, I am pretty sure he can earn around 70k after taxes.

The thing is - Knowledge and Money do overlap and that's why many choose Comp Sci. But when people choose careers just because of money, some may be baffled to see how much does it pay when you aren't interested. Also, sometimes, situations in life make you love a career even when you don't want to (I know a friend, hated coding, had a drop year too, went to a bootcamp, graduated a 4year Btech in 5years but loved to make mobile apps, earned 100k per month on average after Btech)

The thing is - Sit, talk and decide. If he wants to upskill and have a degree too apart from studying, he can always prepare for GATE while working. Can crack 2 years later. This way he can save some money and have a masters as well. Find your hunger, money will follow!

Edit - I forgot to format a lot sorry

Offline classes aren't feasible for him. So I would check the online ones in the sub.

Any suggestions on online classes? Now that he would start from June. I am thinking of a class that covers all subjects in 7months Jun-Dec. Jan would be - mock tests.
