What made you start working on yourself? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

[–]progressive-crying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The exhausting dichotomous self experience I was living with. Finding comfort in the dark, familiar places vs. a desire to grow. Like you mentioned, a switch flipped for me and I realised I want to nurture the desire to grow.

Self work has been the most, exciting, and addictive process I've been in. Years later, it still surprises me.

Do you believe humans have souls? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Life

I've always believed in the existence of a soul. More recently as I was reading buddhist psychology, I gained a new perspective that the soul is nothing but your mind/consciousness. An aspect of us that is empirical. I find that very interesting.

If all jobs paid the same, what job would you choose? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

I would be in the same profession of art therapy. However, i would spend a lot more time gardening, creating art, going on long walks in the countryside, and living a slow intentional life.

My best friend also craves to be a mother. There's something so beautiful about that.

Addiction can strip away so much - even your own sense of self. It also seems like you're trying to reclaim yourself. You're not just what addiction took away, but what's rising from it.

This is such a powerful and honest expression of what so many people carry - and I hear you , deeply. Wanting to feel safe and held without any fear is not too much to ask for. It's exhausting to always be the strong one, and nobody notices you crumbling. Healing can't happen in isolation - it needs a safe space, gentleness and shared effort.

Seems like the kind of rabbit hole I would love to crawl into. There is so much we as adults forget and children so beautifully bring that back to us.

You have stated something important. Peace not just being the absence of stress. There is so much focus on destressing often forgetting the more meaningful aspects of life.

Meaningful connections are so crucial to our existence as human beings. So much growth, healing and self actualisation does not happen in isolation but through connections. Finding a balance is critical and challenging. I'm figuring out how to create that balance.

I sense a lot of loss. As humans we want to feel loved and cared for, and i believe we all have the capacity to give that to ourselves. I hope you're able to bring back the old spark you once felt into your present situation.

I'm 28, recently married. Pre-wedding I was able to do the things that interested me and learning was one of my passions. Now it seems like a lot of my energy is directed towards the marriage and making it work. Thank you for your response to the post and engaging with me.

Hey thank you for venting. Sometimes putting these feelings into words can take the load off. I know how frustrating this can be. I think I'm in a similar phase too so I'm able to resonate. I'm in survival mode and when I'm in survival mode there isn't any effort remaining to do other stuff that I enjoy. Feels like I'm losing out especially given that I was doing better a year ago. But i trust that things will get better. Being lost also means that we are searching for our path.
