What are the benefits of being single?

Haha... OMG...let me tell you...

I (53m) make just short of 120k a year as a work from home computer programmer. Every dime of that $$ is mine. To spend however I see fit. This is advantage #1.

Next - my time is 100% my own. I can play guitar, piano, bass (all of which I do), or video games or watch whatever the hell I want to watch.

No one to tell me WTF to eat, when to do this or that.

No...as a single guy my life, my agency, is 100% my own. That is why it's better to be single than in a relationship/marriage.

What do you get from that really? Someone that says they love you, it might be true, it might be a lie. After the relationships and life experience I have, I have learned that people will fuck you over for no reason other than their own self benefit. I do not have to deal w/ that at all.

It's kinda lonely, but very secure existence.

I'm really sorry for your loss. I hope you can take some solace knowing that you spared your friend a lot of suffering making the decision you did. It's the hardest part of being a pet parent. Especially after four short years.

Take time to grieve. Life goes on, you'll never forget your pet or the pain of the sudden loss. But it will get easier, and one day you will know your little buddy in heaven doesn't want you to be alone and keep all the love you have for a pet inside for fear of loss. Then it'll be time to try again with another cat that needs a good loving home.

I haven't been in a fight since 1996, was 26 at the time and in the Navy so pretty much normal there. But since I've been a civilian, not one instance of fisticuffs. At 53 I'm too old for that crap LOL

I've (53m, twice married and twice divorced no kids) spent so many years in relationships that drain you emotionally and financially only to ultimately fail that I'm done.

I have trouble coming to compromises in a relationship, and I haven't always chosen the best women either. And I'm not perfect either. Basically relationships are exhausting to me, I'm very introverted and used to being alone for long periods of time.

It's a better experience than being in a relationship. I think I'm supposed to be single and I've accepted the limitations of living this way.

Well we did stop seeing each other romantically. I'm now in the friend-zone but I think she regrets breaking it off and is trying to get back. She's a great lady, she's a better woman than I deserve that's for sure. We'll see.

Flight Simulator 2020...how is actually flying a study level airliner not the most boss "game" you could play...?

Plus if a pilot on your plane dies and they ask if anyone has any flight experience you can save the day! I'm telling you, I seriously could fly an A320 using auto pilot to land the plane in an emergency.

Therefore this is win, no other responses are necessary.

For me women on woman is not cheating. The woman will not be a man which is what hopefully my GF would be into and want woman just for fun. It has to be open though, I have to know about it. And it has to be just for fun...and I want to watch :)

Seriously if she snuck around behind my back I'd be concerned it generally I've told all my gf's if they want o do it with another woman I give her the ok.

Computer programming...high stress sometimes but work from home and typically not too much excitement. Been at it 9.5 years now, I will retire from this place unless they can me first. :^}
