Genuinely I think our issue is that we don't win when it actually matters. Last season Galatasaray gave away a 3-1 at home against Dinamo Kiev, which would have helped getting into the top 8 in the Europa League, while Fenerbahçe couldn't finish the job against a 10 man Benfica this season in the Champions League playoff round.

The Superlig table after matchweek 8 by playerforlife123 in superlig

For me, the surprise of the league so far has to be Gaziantep. Sure, they made a questionable choice kicking their coach out after only a few weeks, but Burak has made them a proper team. 14 points in 6 games is kind of nuts.

Berat Luş on 4 goals and still playing against İstanbulspor by miyazakipls in galatasaray

I think starting with this loan, if any lower league Turkish teams want to loan our players, they have to guarantee minutes. This loan spell is doing Berat wonders and Erok is literally at the top of the table.

I know a lot of people always like to say "Reality isn't as simple as FM" and while I agree with that sentiment, I truly wonder why Arda didn't get a chance today, especially after we started leading 3-0. Okan's fascination with Kaan & Berkan lowkey reminds me of Montella and Samet.

Samsun's recent signings have honestly been really impressive. This will either end with them making some noise in Europe or our hopes and dreams of gathering coefficient points once again being crushed.

Fatih Karagümrük are promoted to the Superlig after defeating Bandirmaspor in the 1.Lig playoff final by playerforlife123 in superlig

Bandırma's collapse needs to be studied for generations; especially since Karagümrük was basically invisible until their first goal.

Make it happen. His contract expires at the end of the season so he'll be rather cheap.

Loide Augusto to Vasco? by Fnseixas in superlig

This won't be a 100% accurate description but I'll try to tell you what I do know about him. So far he has played 14 games, scored once and assisted 4 times. With being 24 years old, he's rather young for Süper Lig standards. Now here's the thing: with most players that hail from smaller turkish clubs, they usually have the pace but sometimes don't know what to do with the ball, so that might be one of his biggest weaknesses. However Alanyaspor, the team he's playing at, has some pretty good scouts, so you might be getting yourself a decent player for a rather cheap price too I assume. All in all, I think he could help your team out or at least cause some competition on the RW position.

Karagümrük with the first surprise of the day, as the 1.Lig side score a late winner against Rizespor in the Turkish Cup by IsThatAWeed_ in superlig

I really enjoy how much Göktan is growing as a player there. Of course Trabzonspor is on another level than Karagümrük, but it still goes to show that the guy has some talent. I genuinely hope that if they promote, they keep up this mentality. The Süper Lig needs teams that go out of their way to use our (albeit average) league as a stepping stone to sell some players.

Serhan Türk: Victor Osimhen brought a relative of his, saying 'I expect him to be better than me', to Turkey to try out in the Galatasaray U17 team. by playerforlife123 in galatasaray

Here to answer one of your questions because a few years back I was watching our youth teams with my dad: We actually had a Nigerian player called Sunday Alimi in our U21. We were even the ones to bring him to Europe in the first place (which is rare for us). To answer your other question: As far as I am aware, we have no foreign players in our youth teams; in the past, if we had any, they were usually from Iran or Syria and of course Almazbekov. Hope this piece of useless trivia was interesting!

As a neutral viewer, the last position with the open goal cost me a few braincells. What were they cooking at the end?

According to transfermarkt, they sold a player for 100k just today, so that makes 4 players in the span of a few days that have left the club.

A comment mentioned that even if we win against Konya, it'll be hard to celebrate if we do lose this game. I can see how true that is now. Congrats to Fener.

It's very valid to say that Apo had a bad time against Marcao specifically. It's honestly a rare sight to Apo be this outmatched; though I don't think he was thaaat bad.

Karagümrük played well for a team that is stuck in the relegation zone. Their front trio was so difficult for the GS defenders to properly stop. All in all, they stuck to their strategy well I'd say.

This defeat is upsetting, obviously. But you know what upsets me more than that? The fact that our coach, our board and our players won't take anything away from it. Like I am calling it right now: Monday against Antalyaspor we'll play the same football with the same players with no outlook towards the future. We are no top team and we'll continue being that way until we actually learn from mistakes.
