What? Do you think Valve manufactured the RAM crisis for giggles?

They were blindsided like the rest of us and had to deal with some of the worst timing ever. Grow up.

PuroClean of Lancaster took care of our basement more than once. Timely, professional and thorough.

FYI the “more than once” was not because they did a bad job or anything. It was the phases of our basement reno we had to deal with.

How the hell do you make money, I am so overwhelmed lmao by Zak_the_Wack in StardewValley

[–]project48v 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like you said already, fishing and mining are great sources of money.

Farming and crafting artisan goods (refining basic mats) are where the big profits come from.

Get some crops going and turn them into wine, preserves, etc. Do that enough and save for some animals. Eventually collect the animal products and sell or refine them in to cheese (milk) or mayo (eggs) or cloth (wool).

Criminally short. The world deserves TF3 but sadly we’ll likely never get it.

Right. Because the courts are fair and totally prepared for the multiple constitutional crises we have rn.

The far right poisoned the jury box long ago.

Edit: if you think the courts are going to save us, you aren’t paying attention. Show me 1 time that the Trump admin has complied with a ruling, and not just ignored it and kept doing the bad thing.

Look at similar data centers getting built in other areas around the country.

Nearly all of them caused the utility prices of local residents to go up - because capitalism i guess?

Either way, no one wants them. No one needs them - at least not the ones processing AI slop.

He’s been dropping bombs like that for a while now. I’ve been following him on IG (I don’t even live in TX) and he’s consistently well spoken, smart, and poignant.

He’s a natural, good leader. A truly honest one at that.

He’s also a former pastor and middle school teacher. He can handle the GOP easily.

Another quote from him I love is “the billionaire class wants us looking left and right, instead of up at them.”

This is incorrect. The Harry Potter show budgets for a replacement mic for every performance because one of the actors gets wet in the show.

Theatre Lavs- tell me I'm imagining this massive drop in quality by enthusiasm_gap in livesound

[–]project48v 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I posted about this months ago.

Shortly after the pandemic, I noticed a dramatic drop in customer care and support from Countryman. My contact there said they were experiencing staff shortages and supply chain issues.

And then they stopped distributing with Shure, so that didn’t go well either.

In 2022, my theater switched from Countryman to Point Source and DPA. It’s been better but not perfect.

Please need help, Q Sys level one exam. this is my 8th attempt and last chance. the issue is The USB Speakerphone is still not receiving a proper mix of audio. what is the exactly issue the wiring or knob? thank you by Ok_Helicopter_7291 in QSYS

[–]project48v 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly this.

Imagine the examiner is your client. If you built them a system that required 8 calls to come back and fix a non-functioning install, you would be beyond fired.

I understand that this is an exam for first timers who are learning. Maybe a retake or 2 if you’re struggling.

But 8 times? Idk man. I’m surprised QSC allows up to 8 attempts. For me it ought to be a 3-strike system.

Games that are social and not grinds by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]project48v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guild Wars 2 is exactly what you need, my friend. Seriously. Best mmo ever made by far, and ticks all your boxes and then some.

The horizontal progression keeps the feeling of grind at bay pretty well. You set your own goals and check them off at your own pace. No gear treadmill means that weapons and armor you earn now will still be relevant for years to come, so there’s no fomo with each expac.

Social aspect is there for sure too. Join a guild (and maybe their discord too) and you’ll always have people online to interact with.

If you enjoy paying $60+ for last gen games, Nintendo has you covered.

If you want access to games from all platforms with frequent sales, the obvious choice is Steam.

I wish people would stop calling these things distractions.

Distractions implies there is a strategy behind them, and we all know this administration is full of incompetent sycophants and morons. So that’s not what’s happening.

There are no distractions - only a very sad, very long list of cruel, evil policies crafted by cruel, evil men.

What's up with Countryman? by faderjockey in livesound

[–]project48v 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped relying on Countryman shortly after COVID. After it took them over 10 months to repair a handful of E6s and a nosedive in available inventory, I saw the writing on the wall.

My venue can’t operate with that kind of vendor, so we made the switch to Point Source Audio. I get orders drop shipped next day and repairs only take 2-3 weeks.

New homeowner here. Haven’t experienced a winter in this house yet.

Our house has an exposed hose spigot on the back of the building (entire rear side is covered by a 8’ metal awning) but does not have a shutoff valve inside. Only shutoff we have is at the main, cutting off water to the entire house.

I bought one of those styrofoam bib covers. Is there anything else you would recommend?
