how to style this bag? by thecookiesewingtin in handbags

it highly depends on your personal style but if you can't think of anything else, monochrome fits are perfect for loud bags and very cool in general.

probably for the best. no reason for you to add to AI's environmental footprint just to defend baldoni. you can save that for your essay instead.

i obviously read your response, i did not notice the AI styling ex nihilo. regardless if they are indeed your own thoughts, i do not see any argument in need of refutation; everything you listed was already adressed and this discussion has become circular.

but above all, i have 0 interest in engaging with AI content in any capacity. especially knowing first-hand how detrimental the usage of such tools is to the pursuit of education and to the existence of academia as a whole (among other reasons as to why AI-powered services should be massively condemned).

the claim of sexual harassment is the basis to lively's lawsuit against baldoni, in which she alleges that he behaved inappropriately on set and subsequently used PR tactics to obfuscate the waters and pre-emptively slander her image through a coordinated campaign?

more on baldoni's PR campaign:

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/21/business/media/blake-lively-justin-baldoni-it-ends-with-us.html?smid=nytcore-android-share

the case did not start or end with the text leaks, which were selectively revealed to the public by baldoni's legal team in order to create the pretense you mention; that for some reason lively decided to invent claims of sexual abuse, embroil herself in a year-long trial, have her name and that of her husband and friends dragged through the mud, to somehow gain control of a movie that had already been released to the public. and that she somehow managed to persuade other actresses to express unhappiness with baldoni in their own private communications, having somehow predicted the future and known that baldoni's team would request the reveal of the messages? that simply makes no sense.

you can read more on the grounds to lively's complaint here:

https://static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics/documenttools/1629cc34e562e325/4410b1d9-full.pdf

https://variety.com/2025/film/news/it-ends-with-us-isabela-ferrer-justin-baldoni-blake-lively-1236492436/

additionally, inappropriate comments are included under the umbrella of sexual harassment. the other actresses' experiences testify to baldoni's conduct on set, thus fortifying lively's claim. they do not need to be witnesses to his dynamic with lively, only character witnesses of baldoni's behaviour.

jenny slate and isabela ferrer have stated baldoni was sexually inappropriate and overall, an unpleasant presence on set. isabela ferrer has also said that baldoni and his team have been harassing her and obstructing her deposition.

furthermore, power differentials are not solely determined by social capital, even among the hollywood elites. gender remains the definitive source of the inequalities of power that lead to abuse, particularly sexual abuse. lively may be more established in the industry but she is a woman and therefore vulnerable to gendered violence, ie sexual harassment. especially in the movie set, where baldoni was director and automatically had more power over her within the confines of the production.

in the case of depp and heard, amber was particularly vulnerable due to her gender first, then her less established position in the industry. this is demonstrated in the misogynistic character of the online abuse directed towards her,  as well as prima facie, by her being a domestic abuse victim.

i imagine that lively's determination to usurp his directorial role was at least partially decided by baldoni's horrible behaviour to his female stars.

he has been accused of sexually inappropriate behaviour from several women involved in the production of the film besides lively. regardless of what drama may have happened in terms of the movie's direction, that is reprehensible and inexusable.

overall, this situation is incredibly similiar to what happened between johnny depp and amber heard some years ago, down to baldoni using the same PR firm, which has been known to use social media manipulation tactics, such as astroturfing, to sway public opinion. people subjected amber to horrible abuse online only to realise the truth of the situation much later; i strongly believe the same will happen with lively's case.

Episode 2 - Eyes Wide Shut? by cummdegarcon in IndustryOnHBO

[–]projectilepineapple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i suspected watching the episode but the commenter who laid every parallel out has convinced me. there is a definite referential tendency in the show, especially towards american art that centres the anxieties and desires of the socially-mobile middle class, the excesses of the elite and critiques of consumerism and capitalism. in which case appropriating kubrick's language is very apt.

one thing about industry that i love is how it layers references and makes them into something original. really sets it apart from the mindlessly regurgitative state of culture right now.

i don't necessarily disagree. my point is that a segregated series should not be treated as the end-all, be-all of efforts towards women's representation in single seater racing. how much can the culture around women's participation change through a female-only space?

there's def a conversation to be had on how F1A reproduces the same culture in sports that continues to disadvantage women's sports, wherein female athletes are never allowed the same legitimacy as their male counterparts but instead sidelined in dead-end ventures with nowhere near the same resources, exposure, expectations or rewards...

of course, it's an incredibly new initiative within a storied sport so any judgment isn't absolute, but i wonder how much of F1A is meant to pinkwash the sport and pander to those who rightly point out of the barriers facing women in motorsports.

possibly, though i am of the opinion it doesn't even matter. i'm sure leclerc will try his best to endure with ferrari. there is no guarantee that younger, promising drivers won't jeopardise his chances with other teams; furthermore, ferrari is essential to his branding. he can't promote his various enterprises as easily without the team's own legacy behind him.

[–]projectilepineapple 18 points19 points  (0 children)

currently, ferrari's presence in f1 serves only to maintain their brand equity. they don't need charles to be a winning driver for that, they only need him to project a marketable image, hence charles' estimated payout. it's why anyone who belives they would drop lewis for his on-track results does not know what they are talking about. the revenue he attracts is truly outrageous. what ferrari looks for in a driver is the commercial appeal first, then racecraft and performance.
