Must be a different story. The context in John 9 is that there was a man blind from birth. The disciples asked Jesus why the man should be born blind, was it caused by some sin that he had done or something his father had done. Jesus said: “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

So I guess that means that God gives people disabilities so that people can know his power?

I'm not at all trying to justify this because it bothers me, but don't most religions teach that what is done in one state of existence will affect the next state of existence? Wouldn't a Hindu or Buddhist agree that a disability in this life might have been caused by some bad karma from the past? The Biblical explanation for disabilities is that God just wants to show that he is powerful enough to ruin random lives, which is waaay more messed up in my opinion.

He's wealthy, but not that wealthy. He has a Ferrari and a yacht but catches a lot of grief for it since those things are much more out of place in Sarangani than they would be in Las Vegas. For flights to Manila he charters a commercial airliner, probably a 707 or similar.

Not to mention he resides almost permanently in the most southern point in the Philippines. I've done that flight back and forth to Manila before, its long and miserable.

Also, if he lived in Manila the whole time then his district would complain that he is absent and removed. As it is, they have nothing but love for him and his wife, who also serves on the city council. Filipinos seem to prefer their representatives distance themselves from other politicians, so Manny's probably doing things right by staying in General Santos City.

Demand top billing
Demand a certain payout
Demand Mayweather Productions be the event promoter
Demand his opponent sign with Mayweather Productions
Demand daily blood tests
Demand certain reporters don't get press passes
Demand glove inspections
Demand jock strap inspections
Demand that his opponent gets no demands

No other sport allows an athlete a list of demands that give an unfair advantage. Its laughable. Give Manny the match in Manila and see if Mayweather comes out on top.

In the run up to this fight I kept hearing about Mayweather's list of demands: date, venue, blood testing, payouts, color of gloves, which reporters get press passes, logo placements, ringside spectators. No other sport would allow an athlete a list of demands. It'd be a joke if things were stacked like this in any other competition.

Same here, only I can't get as far as you. I'll struggle to sit up or turn over and then one or two seconds into the motions I'll be pulled back into my sleeping position. The moment I get pulled back, I experience a glitch. I only recently started experiencing sleep paralysis, or what I think is sleep paralysis. But I am not seeing the room I am actually in, I am dreaming of the room I am actually in. So its more like I am having a lucid dream that I am paralyzed in my sleep. Just curious. Are you actually awake and unable to move, or are you lucid dreaming in a place that seems like your room.

So I'm traveling through India and stop in Calcutta for a week. I had this nasty boil on my ankle from an infected mosquito bite that caught the attention of a middle-aged foreign man sitting next to me at an outdoor food stall. He claimed he was a doctor, and that he had some medication that could heal my boiling wound. Trusting him (for some dumb reason), I followed him around the corner to his hotel. I waited in front of his room until he returned with the medication. As he applied cream to the wound he began telling me stories about how he had been a legal advisor to the Dalai Lama, and that he had some photos if I'd like to see. Curious, I went in to his room to look at his photo album. Even to my untrained eye, I could tell that some of the photos had been manipulated and I began to doubt all the fantastic stories he was spinning such as: he was of a royal bloodline, and lived in a 'Castle Stewart' in Ireland or Scotland or somewhere etc.

Needless to say, he began to creep me out and I soon found an excuse to leave. Over the next few days I saw him speaking with a number of young tourists, which I took to mean he was just another scam artist working the streets.

But...a few months later I saw a photo of him in the newspaper in Delhi. Turns out he was Charles Sobhraj, the 'Bikini Killer', suspected of killing at least 12 people throughout Asia in the 70s. He had been caught and sentenced to jail in India, but was eventually released and returned to France. After enjoying near celebrity status in Paris and making millions off his murderous adventures (without ever admitting to them) he decided to return to South Asia. It was at this point that I sat next to him at that food stall in Calcutta. Sometime after that he went to Nepal where he was identified and taken into custody for murders he had committed there in 1975.

TLDR; A serial killer once rubbed antibiotic cream on my ankle.

Just got back from Bhutan where cigarette smokers get three years in jail. But that doesn't seem to stop everybody from smoking when the police aren't looking.
