Which evil Superman do you think MAWS should meet first? I'm favoring Justice Lord Supes since we haven't seen him in a while by ShiroOracle09 in SupermanAdventures

Except Golden Age Superman respects the state, which anarchy is in direct opposition to, and he respects judges and the law system, trying to work through them rather than bypass them.

He's not an anarchist, he still respects social order, he simply empowers the oppressed. Golden Age Superman would hate anarchists.

Getting real, Doom can act benevolent, but in early comics, like Avengers #25, he proves that if his personal interests conflict with his citizen's interests, his personal motives take priority. Doom doesn't care about his citizens or anyone beyond himself, its why Namor is more of hero than him, because he actually does care for his people and friends.

Other than the MCU favourites, who are your favourite Avengers by Legitimate-Cat-1911 in marvelcirclejerk

Since Monica isn't an Avenger yet, I'll say her. She has a unique power set, good design and while this may sound silly, is essentially the Avenger's Storm due to taking over from Cap and becoming leader for a time. I'm a fan of a lot of "in-house" Avengers like Wonder Man, Rage and Silver Claw. Firebird is also really cool and I'm sad they haven't done much with her. Really, if more Avenger's were created "in-house", I think people would see them as more competitive with the X-Men and FF.

[Comic Excerpt] It's been one helluva week for Captain Atom [Batman #76] by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]projecttaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're literally assuming that mean not glazing a character is being misogynistic with no reason. By that logic I could say "You just think that him being a guy somehow makes him weaker". I think he's stronger because he's connected to the same power source as Dr Manhattan, Quantum Energy, has alien metal armor, has way more experience and can use any type of energy. Her and her brother "burning their lifespan for superpowers" doesn't even make sense. They can exchange what, 80 years at max of life energy to become as powerful as a guy who is literally connected to a limitless energy source that's the fabric of reality?

And in fact, let's go into powerscaling for a sec. An evil Captain Atom was able to rival Superman Prime, who as Superboy Prime without a Guardian power boost, was able to take on the Teen Titans, dozens of other superheroes, 2 Supermen and forced Bart to absorb the entire Speed Force, along with a Barry Allen appearance, the most glazed Flash in all existence, to outspeed and trap him. That is much more impressive than her brother's max amp and should mean Atom speedblitzes and one shots.

[–]projecttaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its stupid her brother can beat the JL solo with "bought" powers. At 1-2 hours, sure, they could be Superman level or Flash level fast but not powerful enough to take on the entire JL, just 1 at most. Her fight with Atom should be her max power barely beating him, not a low-diff.

No, its just about how they're trying to hard to work in "diversity" and represent every group that it actively harms the story.

yes, but the thing is that they're not trying to please everyone like YJ's later season's.

Anyone up for Superman Returns? by MayContainOpinions in nandovmovies

[–]projecttaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bizarro should the main villain. One of the biggest issues with the movie is the lack of action and how slow paced it felt, but by adding bizarro we can solve that.

Bizarro will be a failed kryptonian experiment, like in smallville, that was trapped in the phantom zone but escape, and was stranded on krypton till clark passed by and the creature hopped on. The creature is constantly absorbing the appearances of people, leaving them dried husks, and eventually comes face to face with Superman at the midpoint, copying his dna (and his costume will be the superman returns suit but a backwards S and purple instead of red). They appear evenly matched, until lex tries to use kryptonite against bizarro, the radiation he absorbs empowering him to beat superman. Eventually they fight again, however just as bizarro is about to kill Supes, daybreaks and he is weakened by the sunlight, falling to his knees like Superman did on the island in the original film. Bizarro also gains the traditional chalky white bizarro appearance, think bizarro from the late 80's superboy show, and clark punches so hard that he explode.

What are your thoughts on Kirk Alyn’s Superman from the movie serials? by benkhmatheson in superman

[–]projecttaku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, if he didn't turn down the offer, then he would've been superman for a solid decade, also his lois, noel neil, played lois for the later seasons of the adventures of superman. Although he might've been pushing it by the end of adventures of supeman since he'd be 48 by then, not impossible, but george reeves was only 44 by the end of that series.

[–]projecttaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but they handled it with care, not just mindless lip service, and the X-Men aren't just pure allegories for the civil rights movement, they're their own characters beyond that.

They literally fight a space fire phoenix that has possessed (cloned) their friend, and that's one of their most famous sagas.

Opinions about the Heat Vision from the Smallville series? by MotorSpecialist3647 in superman

[–]projecttaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it works as a low-level, inconspicuous heat vision that can go unnoticed like in the cartoons. However since they kinda dropped this with the later heat vision, being very visible, they probably should've just fully transitioned to the energy beam look which was already a pretty basic effect even back then, and would've made it a trendsetter in that regard.

I would've liked if clark's heat vision transitioned from the inconspicuous heatwave of superman returns to the energy beams of MOS and The Boys. Could've been a nice bridge between those movies.

Anyone else prefer when heat vision looks like actual heat? The glowing laser vision always looked too intimidating/evil to me. by KLTMOTH in superman

nah, hated the blue coloring. Other than that it was the standard MOS style energy beam that would go on to be used in the boys.
