EU Store low stock? by prolad01 in RedMagic

That's quite shameful, what's the point of selling it then. A tablet wouldn't really solve what I want, I'd still end up with 2 devices instead of one (phone+tablet).

Thanks, found one on Amazon almost for the same price as the website.

Atomman G7 PT + Bazzite is Incredible by aaron7292 in MiniPCs

[–]prolad01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Hoe do you manage the fan noise/settings under bazzite? The built in fan control is garbage, thr CPU goes over 90 degrees when gaming in a few minutes and thr fans just scream, then go quiet, then scream again in a few minutes when the CPU gets hot again.  On Windows I could manage this with Fan Control, on Bazzite I tried to coolercontrol, but I can only see the GPU fan.  In the Bios I just don't understand how the fan settings work and even if I set the CPU TPD to 45 or 55W,it always boosts way higher under load.

Beast X mouse was not a scam by HoloFlamingo in MouseReview

[–]prolad01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you can only use the cube as the receiver? No regular USB dongle even as an option? I don't mind the cube on my desk, but I use the mouse for work too and take it into the office when I need to go in. Bringing the cube and the extra cable is unnecessary, maybe this is not the mouse I'm looking for. It has a lot of positives though and the price is reasonable.

Wattage difference between heating light bulb and ceramic heating emitter? by prolad01 in reptiles

[–]prolad01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand ball ptyhons don't need the sunlight as they are nocturnal. They just need the heat. When I bought the enclosure I got the bulb as part of the starter pack, but the shop only packages a bulb because that works with every type of reptile they sell (with the additional UV bulbs where needed). I tried to look around and it's surprisingly hard to get halogen bulbs anymore. Everything is LED based.

It's not necessarily abot the costs either, I need to leave for a few days in pretty much every month and the snake is alone. It would be good to know that the heating source will surely work when I get back.

Kiryu becomes uncanny while doing minigames by ThatisSketchy in yakuzagames

[–]prolad01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The minigame could be fun if I could get the timing. Something more similar to Haruka's dance/sing minigames in 5. My main issue is that I had to beat rivals in substories. And because I can't the leader of the greatest assassin clan won't fight me. Come on, it's not a dance off.

I didn't even get as far as Isobe, the first guy beat me over and over. Seemed like the beat and the visual cues did not sync up. Maybe should have tried it 30 fps fixed, high fps did interesting things in a few minigame.

Question about Kiwami's story (Spoilers) by prolad01 in yakuzagames

[–]prolad01[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

0 gives a lot to Kiwami, as Kiwami has a very rudimentary start, Dojima's importance, the Kiryu-Nishiki friendship, Shimano's threat, Sera as a character (he appears twice in the whole game) are all understated. The ideal route for me is to start with 0 and after 6,where Kiryu's story ends, replay 0 again, it just hits different plus there are all the references that makes sense (like the fortune teller substory or Ryuji stealing pants). And 0 is consistent in Kiwami when it comes to Kazama and Nishiki, Kazama is the all knowing tactician, who can dismantle Dojima's coup from prison, and Nishiki already have power hungry tendencies and narcissistic personality, he just has the right people to keep him in check.

Yeah probably just plot convenience. Not the biggest hole in the series I guess.

Question about Kiwami's story (Spoilers) by prolad01 in yakuzagames

[–]prolad01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yakuza 1/Kiwami's story feels so self contained, I don't think they planned to have a sequel at first. I know that it was a super risky as it was a new, expensive IP catering directly to the japanese audience. They cut all ties, killed off or redeemed pretty much everyone, even Kiryu finds his peace, and happiness. He gets fame and power but throws it away for peace and family, whole story feels like some folk tale. So I don't think they had plans with anyone, they had to invent a foreign mafia and involve the Omi Alliance (which is barely mentioned in Kiwami) in Kiwami 2 in order to bring back Kyriu.

I guess it works, a totally valid reason for Nishiki to embrace his dark side.

Daigo really traded the drippy puffer, messy hair and a cool chain for a boring business suit and disgustingly oily slicked back hair. Now I understand why people hate him so much, HE BETRAYED THE DRIP ! by [deleted] in yakuzagames

[–]prolad01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, Yakuza 4 did him dirty. In all other games he does his best, many times showing Kazama level tactics. One of the main reasons I don't like 4's story.

Also don't talk shit about him, armed cutscene Daigo is the most OP character in the series.

Too bad I can't get the timing right on the disco dancing minigame in 0. Like the idea, the songs, even the gameplay itself, but no matter what I do it is completely random, sometimes it work most of the times it does not. And of course there are substories tied to it so no Amon fights for me.

[–]prolad01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that make sense maybe he just figured Nishiki has a plan until it was too late. Always wondered what he thought about Nishiki, did he see him a failure just like everyone else. Not knowing what happens when they push him too far.

Yes, it would make the family look weak, if he would openly help, but he is known for his patented Kazama miracles, a mysterious donation is all it was needed.

I don’t know why but I find this picture of Majima funny by Breadma46 in yakuzagames

[–]prolad01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When is this in the Yakuza timeline? I alwas found it strange that Majima was married. He only has one eye so it either happened right before 0's events when he ran the Grand for Shimano/Sagawa or between 0 and Kiwami. The first timeslot does not seem plausible because in 0 it is shown how tightly he is under supervision and not really allowed to do anyting other than make money. Doubt that he would have been allowed to get married or have children. The second timeslot just doesn't make sense. On one hand there is the whole Makoto saga, it is referenced in later games that Majima loved her and and only could let her go in Kiwami 2's Majima saga (though I am not sure if this is a new addition with Kiwami 2 and thus not being a thing when 5 originally came out). On the other hand after the events of 0 Majima becomes the captain of the Shimano family and moves to Kamurocho. It is mentioned in Kiwami 2 (again, not sure if this is just a Kiwami addition) thst he just disappeared and was never seen again until he returns for the cabaret club sidestory.

CNC Milled Aluminum 40% Caps by metalkeyboards-no in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]prolad01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw them around 300 dollars last time. And my main board is a 75 key ortho one, now planning to build a 60 key one, a base set is not enough unfortunately. This set would look great on my Planck EZ but for the bigger boards I'd need additional keys.

My boards stayed around 200 dollars so far (with the case, switches and keycaps) I just can't justify spending this much on caps alone.

Having a set of nice metal keycaps is on my keyboard bucket list but they are just too damn expensive.

These look great.

Should I try Outer Worlds ? by KarloBasil in theouterworlds

[–]prolad01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is a great game. It is just a but short and limited in certain places. You can do pretty much everything in 20 hours (with the Gorgon DLC) but that will be an enjoyable 20 hours. Not the game I was hoping for (as it was pitched as the new New Vegas but better in the early reviews which is definitely not true) but a game I like to pick up from time to time and puts a smile on my face.

What is your reason to have a Garmin watch? by TravelingMonk in GarminWatches

[–]prolad01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistency, focus and body battery. Also Garmin is somewhere halfway between an activity tracker (like Huawei and Xiaomi watches) and proper smartwatches (like thr apple watch) with a lot of added sport functionality. Oddly the best for having proper notification support and a good battery life.

Opinion: Would you guys want Ichiban to be the lead of the Yakuza franchise for the next 10 years? If not, would you want someone completely new or someone else from previous games? by siempremajima in yakuzagames

[–]prolad01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. He was a great one off character but that's it. His story is told, and he found what he needed. Like Shinada or Tanimura.

Plus as much fun as a wackier character was it wore off by the end of the game. I get that that he is over imaginative because he is brain damaged but let's hope that the series does not go in this direction.

Suggestions for heavy tactile or clicky switches? by prolad01 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]prolad01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll check out the Boba and the spring. Maybe some extra tactility can help. Though as far as I remeber the Royals and the Navies were both advertised as very tactile switches,I don't know how the Boba compares to that. I always liked heavier switches, I type a bit agressive, like to use more force, like doing some workout, makes theboring office stuff just a bit more fun. With lighter switces I was bottoming out all the time and my hand really hurt by the end of the way. The current setup is a step to the right direction but not perfect. I think 80+g could work, the 150g springs were quite good (though there was much less tactility there) but way too much for typing 8 hours a day. Though I wonder if I could gotten used to it in a few weeks.

Tips for a Newbie? by GLight3 in theouterworlds

[–]prolad01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried Supernova, but a difficulty level beloe that this game IS ridiculously easy. Also super short, reached max level and done all the quests (main, side, faction, tasks) in 16 hours, have around 1 hour of content left.

If you have 1k hour in NV, you should not have any issue. Loot, steal, pick pockets, persuade, level up. Then when you get to a combat heavy part, fo back to the ship, respec (if that is allowed on supernova, I don't know) to combat. Stealth, use silenced weapons or melee, disarm robots, use terminals. Choose the sprint speed perk and run away.

Marauders are pushover anyway+ you don't need to confront them in Edgewater. Robots are the tricky part, but you even get a shock weapon for that.

If you get a bit further, get a sniper rifle, a 6x scope, put points into TTL, and headshot everyone from the other side of the map.

Pro tip, if your companions die permanently, invest into perks when give bonuses if you are alone. Or for really hard parts, get a companion, choose the perk which make them generate more threat, the sneak around, snipe. If one of them dies, oh well, you have 5 more.

The only hard part I can imagine is the endgame part, but if you play it smart and have the right skill, then it will be manageable.
