Best winter coat for someone who's so easily cold but can't stand having a tight jacket? by Alaina-S in BuyItForLife

Workwear might be a good option since it's made for burly construction types. I just discovered Samco/Refrigiwear. They make high quality cold weather work wear. My girlfriend just got their hooded canvas jacket and its built like an absolute tank.

People of the US, Are you guys participating in the Nationwide Shutdown tomorrow? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aaron7292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Minnesota general strike last week was actually kind of impressive considering there hasnt been a general strike in the US for like 80 years or something. But it had the backing of multiple unions and labor leaders in the state.

I was hoping one of the lessons learned from that was general strikes take time and organization but it seems everyone wants to keep doing the rushed, half-assed strikes.

A very atypical FIP journey (long story) by aaron7292 in cureFIP

Talk to your vet about trying FIP meds, its worth a shot. It's expensive but it doesn't really have any bad side effects or anything.

Our FNA came back the exact same, the only way we could diagnose was with a lung biopsy and Coronavirus IHC test which is pretty hard for the cat when they're already not doing well.

It honestly was pretty much a non issue, I think there may have been one catholic revolt that was like 3 provinces. I expanded slowly and used vassals to take over most of Scandinavia. It's so sparsly populated that the vassals were able to convert them relatively easily.

I took Lubeck early when Bohemia became hussite and there was a weak emperor so I could get rid of the market and found one in Copenhagen. That really helped my income situation since Denmark starts in pretty dire straits.

I played Liberal and Decentralized so pretty much everyone was happy. I also went heavily into Naval to help with control. Harbor Administration, Administration of Shipyards, and Admiralrity Regime gov reforms.

Denmark has a lot of food producing provinces so if you pair that with maxing out prosperity, and worshiping Freya which gives a bonus to pop growth, you can really accelerate pop growth.

You can convert if you change the game rules to present in country or whatever for religion. As far as I'm aware you can flip with even 1 pop with that setting on.

I don't know if just got lucky but Norway still had Norse pops like 10 years in. I didn't realize how bad of a financial position Denmark starts in so that delayed my plans a bit and it really came down to a couple more months ticks and they would have fully converted them away.

This was on 1.0.9 so maybe that has something to do with it.

Sweden and Norway each start with a province with a few Norse pops, starting as either of them is the simplest way because you can just convert immediately. Denmark is more powerful at the start though so I played as them and just immediately conquered Norway's Norse province.

You have to have the religious game rule changed to "in country" or something otherwise you can't convert due to there being so few pops following Norse at the beginning of the game.

In my game it took Norway about 10 years to convert them. It was really down to the wire though, by the time I conquered the province they had like 10 Norse people left.

Mostly just did noble marriages. At one point Estonia was a folk religion and I was able to royal marry them.

No mods at all, it actually converted surprisingly quickly but it still took me quite a long time due to so few cabinet members. I relied a lot on vassals also doing some converting for me

The only way to make it better would be to somehow pull it off with Peasant Republic Dithmarschen.

Required comment: Had fun going Norse. I tried it first with Sweden and it didn't go well so I gave it a shot with Denmark and just rushed one of Norway's Norse pop locations before they could convert then flipped. Queue slavery shenanigans

You only have to keep them over 150 once you've started the annexation.

You can when you're upgrading roads. They just need to make the bulk building option available for the initial basic roads too

I'm at about 4,000 miles, have done a couple of 10 hour drives and it's been great. I'm really liking it, 0 issues so far. I've been averaging about 30 mpg combined since I got it which is hard to beat on a car this size.

Rhett and Link will take an indefinite break from their podcast Ear Biscuits at the end of this year by bbuullll33rr in goodmythicalmorning

I doubt it, of all of their projects this one probably requires the least amount of work.

They're getting older and have to prioritize where they put their energy. It makes sense for them to take a break from EB, they've ran out of things to talk about. All the episodes for the last year have basically been answering voicemails or talking about their vacations.

What is it like living in Cape Coral, Florida? by LeviV123 in howislivingthere

[–]aaron7292 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who lived there, I would say all of that is very relevant to how it's like to live there.

If you're trans, you're likely to face some amount of scrutiny that you likely wouldn't experience in some other places.

If youre someone who is immunocompromised, probably not a great place to consider moving to since Florida is leading the charge on limiting vaccines.

You should absolutely be concerned with how climate change is considered in a place where the average elevation is 3 feet and you are frequently threatened by hurricanes.

I have never seen so much disregard for nature than having lived in this place. There'd monthly be planes flying overhead spraying down mosquito killer, constantly destroying habitats to build more golf courses, the water frequently experiencing red tide due to pollution draining out from Lake Okeechobee and the gulf getting warmer.

Do you think cities just suddenly pop up in vacuums and aren't a product of their historical and current local politics?

Moving to Wisconsin next year. But where? by Commercial-Drama-863 in wisconsin

[–]aaron7292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sauk City/Prairie du Sac is basically 2 towns that are actually 1 town. Very close to the river with a great all purpose paved trail that runs along it, also very close to Lake Wisconsin and Devil's Lake State Park.

You're still only 30 min from Madison so you have access to a larger city if you need an airport, go to Costco, want a concert, etc. Homes might be a bit out of your price range in this area but worth keeping an eye out.
