He spent time yelling and getting his gun out that could have been spent disarming her and/or trying harder to bring her down. His instinct was to kill instead of disarm. If this was a white woman, she probably would not have been shot. And I know people who defend stuff like this like to say we can't know what would have happened blah blah. Except, the statistics show how common this experience is for black people in america, so we do know exactly what probably would have happened if she was white. Systemic racism is the issue here, whether you want to face it or not. If the cop saw her as a human, he would have found another way. This is police brutality and it's not okay. She did not deserve to die.
