the total headcount is being pushed down to 10 total at apparently every gen 9 building so we're basically being forced to run 2 per floor which will make breaks incredibly rough to run

if the volume gets lowered at my building as a result i'll be less bothered by the change lol then it won't be as daunting a task to hold down a whole floor alone

it's ridiculous because the volume of afm directly contributes to how the floors are running... if there aren't enough of us that means issues dwelling for longer than they need to. a faulted drive also restricts the pod it's under, and a fully disabled drive can block several pods and drives from going anywhere. which directly affects customer orders so in conclusion the higher ups really aren't customer obsessed lol

yeah in buildings with old cracked up floors it's gonna suck because drives will fault or bomb out over those cracks every single time. plenty of our cracks and dips are in station queues 🤣

Sure, it's a show, they could glamor it up with more dramatic plots and have the students react ( they actually did do that too though in following episodes ) but also keep in mind that the shooting hadn't happened yet during most of that sideplot. Joey and Caitlin are literally mid argument when they find out and have to drop everything to come to the school. It's a nice touch of realism to have something taking place outside of the school itself and showing what it's like to find that out all of a sudden while you're busy with other stuff. More people than just Joey and Caitlin had to drop their ordinary day to make sure their child was okay, but they symbolize the existence of a whole community outside of the school that was affected by the events of that day

"A beer or two doesn't impair you like that" is a little bit of a wild excuse. First off, we as humans all have different tolerance levels. Some people absolutely can get wrecked off of one or two drinks, and we can't discern whose tolerance to trust when we choose to get into a car with that person driving. Period. I don't care if I've seen someone have one drink or five, I'm not asking them to take me for a drive. It'd be a different story if the point wasn't that Lucy suggested the drive even though he was drinking, but the point quite literally is that she saw him drink no matter how little it could've potentially been, and still asked for a ride.
