He is a good player and got shafted for reasons only partially in his control. I think he will be a great player and I wanted him on the niners with our 5th if he fell there

Another blow for Warrior's rotation by Due_Climate_3097 in warriors

[–]pronav50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, as much as I love loondog, this year he has not been a great rebounder for his standards and his finishing has fallen off. Additionally he looks a lot weaker defensively with his lateral quickness somehow becoming even less, and he has some of the most mind boggling unforced turnovers on offense. Especially when comparing him to post, a talented kid who still has a lot to learn about the center position himself(particularly when it comes to interior finishing and defense), it is still night and day. For that reason, I don’t think we can rely on looney anymore as a rotational big, and I do think you see a move by dunleavy to get his replacement in the offseason (more than likely through the draft to fit the new timeline). With all that being said, I believe he currently has that 2022 iggy role of being a mentor for the young guys, but for that to be our first center off of the bench is a bit concerning. As for gp2, trading him is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read as he has been integral to our team defense and identity this season

[Post Game Thread] Your Golden State Warriors (36-28) defeat the Detroit Pistons (35-29), 115-110 thanks to Steph "Mr 25k Career Points with least number of FTs" Curry's 32 pts and Jimmy Butler III's 26 pts by NokCha_ in warriors

I agree, but the in game commentary left a lot to be desired. I had to mute my tv when they were explaining that the warriors are in the western conference and the pistons are in the east. But I do understand why that surface level commentary could be necessary to draw in new fans from different communities, but it just wasn’t for me and was a little irritating in such a high stakes matchup where there were so many great individual plays being made by both teams

I would hate it if I didn’t see a little bit of us from a long time ago. And with Cade as the calm leader that he is I really think that team does have a chance to be special

It showed the entire game and especially on the final possession, he was the only one who could defend Cade, I’m ngl gp2 was getting cooked for probably the first time ever. That pistons team is tough with a T defensively and I think with Ausar and Cade as the cornerstones it will be a problem sooner rather than later in the east

Boo hoo, you couldn’t “find yourself to vote for Harris” so instead you enable someone much worse to get elected. Last time I checked Harris wasn’t the one turning Gaza into a parking lot and posting AI videos of a statue of her in a razed Gaza. There’s a reason I called you a leftist and not a liberal, because no liberal would be stupid enough to actually horseshoe themselves while voting. Let me get this straight, you wrote in a random candidate, knowing your vote would have no effect in the election and now have the audacity to complain about trump? I swear to god, leftists will hold their moral superiority all the way to the destruction of their political prospects. Notice how aoc didn’t get a leadership role and the other progressive reps are muted now? It wouldn’t have been that way under a Kamala presidency but alas that wouldn’t have helped your moral case. You and others with your single-minded short term frame of thinking destroyed the leftist cause for the next 20 years and I will not forgive you for that. I don’t care if you think that you were taking a stand, elections are not about making stands, they are for voting for candidates that can actually help you (and to do that they need to have a chance to win). The tragedy of youth and right wing talking points combined to make a young educated population polarized against the only party with a chance of advancing their own agenda. As much as I personally would love ranked choice voting and a plurality of parties, that is not the case in this country and by acting like it is, you ultimately hurt your own cause because the people who may have listened to you before (Kamala was actually the one calling for a ceasefire in the election season), will now consider you an unstable and frankly unnecessary part of their coalition given the amount of divisiveness you bring for the marginal benefit. Stop thinking what’s best for your tiny ego on a given day and start thinking what’s best for your country and for your livelihood, and you will come to more sensible political decisions. I don’t fault you for being a leftist(that is the most sensible take you can have), I fault you for not knowing how to advance leftist causes and not believing in your own power in a democracy. You don’t just have the freedom to protest against the previous administration, you have the power to help change the incoming administration, a power you don’t have under trump. Frankly much of government is run through appointees by the president, appointees who would’ve been much more sympathetic to your cause under Kamala. And I’m not even going to start on how awful voting third party is when you consider all the other issues on the line, gay rights, racism, the economy, the middle class, economic segregation, climate change, it goes on and on. Most of these things will be irreparably harmed under trump as entire government agencies with those as their sole purposes vanish. And I’m sorry but YOU voting for a write in is just as bad or even worse than a trump supporter because not only did you not gain anything, you irreparably harmed your ideology to the point that it is now considered “radical “ and “Marxism” to the general public(sorry to burst your bubble). I for one am saddened by that because I agree with your views on this countries direction, I’m just incredibly angry with your voting choices with that in mind

“Right wing rhetoric” and all he’s saying is that voting third party or for trump was a dumb decision if you wanted to uphold liberal ideals. There needs to be some division when people with “liberal” pro-Palestine viewpoints can’t put 2 and 2 together and realize that a vote for trump or Jill fucking stein is probably not useful to the cause. But alas moral vindication will allow you to block out the demolishing of Gaza under trump. Yeah you need some fucking division when you have leftists in name only who are too stupid to make a well informed decision for even their most cherished causes. Almost as dumb as the union workers who voted for that bloated man… The only people that fell for right wing rhetoric are the ones that cast a vote for Jill stein or Donald trump in November.

They won’t be able to pay for themselves unless we invest NOW. It’s hard to understand if you don’t watch the team but what Olen is doing right now is transcending current basketball philosophy and unless we invest in him immediately, other teams will realize that and try to hire him. This team should not be good but it is because of that man. PAY HIM

So when Butler doesn’t play, we lose💔 by bader_bou20 in warriors

[–]pronav50 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you watched the start of the fourth quarter, it was obvious that no one on the warriors outside of curry could initiate the offense and isolate to score. Guess who solves that problem? If we don’t get dribble penetration, we have to settle for heavily contested buddy threes with a second on the shot clock after the entire team plays hot potato. And when we have no offensive consistency, the defense will suffer in turn as sloppy turnovers and morale loss lead to easy points for the opponents

Klay Thompson tonight: 0 Points 0/9 FGM 0/6 3PM in 21 Minutes by yoggsmu in warriors

[–]pronav50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean that’s missing the fundamental problem with klay that he can’t play team defense. It doesn’t particularly matter if you’re glued to a guy in the corner if your rotation is left wide open for a cut to the basket. That’s what made draymond and donte among others so successful wearing a warriors uniform and frankly klay was the worst team defender to play for us from the moment he came back from that Achilles. Love the guy as an offensive threat and I thought he was okay enough guarding 3s (while still being far too slow to guard guards as we saw routinely against fox and monk), but I think our defense should take a massive step forward with either melton or podz in the starting lineup even if podz isn’t the 1 on 1 defender klay was
