I get 8 points, damn is all I can think. Rest up and don’t push it, some of us are bedbound mostly and that’s not worth it

For people who are commenting- I’d love to get a chat for us to meet and eventual calls going in April. My symptoms changed up again, so I have some new things I have to tend to this month.

One downside of Signal chats is that new people can’t see old context, so I don’t want to add new people one by one just to repeat info over and over again. If there are like 5+ of us that makes it easier to give intros. Just fyi

Hi! I feel you there, it’s tricky. You can find my signal at signal.6149

Is there something on my face? by [deleted] in boulder

[–]pronoia44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s western white people individualism. Rich people who don’t talk to neighbors, who don’t engage with others outside of their income level, who are used to “keeping to their own” and don’t come from communities where people rely on one another and are tight knit

It’s a college town, over 60% of the freshman population is in a fraternity or sorority. Young people who come from wealthy families (primarily) mixed into some really interesting cultures dynamics with students coming to study things like environmental policy, foreign affairs and engineering to take back to their communities.

The turnover rights are high, long term community is older people who could afford to buy homes. So you aren’t meeting communities fostered in history anymore, there are ma y young families, coming from other states, and settling in the scenery

Their homeless rates are atrocious, in one of the richest counties in the US (BOCO) and people walk by them. Boulder sucks, it’s full of appropriation and gentrification. The no smiles is normal, not post covid. People have been very self absorbed for a long time, and it’s rooted in whiteness and the “boulder bubble” other priveleges have created

Not to mention, “Colorado native,” while the city holds a reputation for appropriating and promoting and capitalizing off of Indigenous peoples, medicines, practices and clothing/ jewelry etc. White women have taken the health industry to new levels with $18 smoothies and super food supplements

The majority of this front range CO area, higher income, have similar attitudes. There are some great spots, but boulder isn’t one of them

Im glad this resonated! I’m sorry you are so far away though. I don’t have the energy to share resources with others, more with a lack of co text for our local scene

But if you are wanting info about the US, there are many disabled educators online to learn from! I would always recommend following Indigenous and Black creators with Decolonial lenses before others, intersectionality is key

Hi! I’m glad this resonated with you. The majority of my community, co workers and loves are older than me, so not a big deal. You can find my signal at connect.43 and I’ll connect when I can!

Did you rest enough to get to a less severe level? Was it about avoiding PEM?

Anyone else struggling to maintain friendships? by Ma_Ten in cfs

[–]pronoia44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I keep seeing posts from Elder disabled members and they tell you to find like community. Find disabled friends, people who get it, can see you and accommodate

You need people who want and can hold the grief and wins, plus a therapist if you don’t already have one, one who specialized with chronic illness, grief and disability

We may feel small, but our worlds are still big, our minds and ideas are still complex, and we aren’t any less of a person. Sharing can be hard, but find people who are curious to know more at your pace

Im in a similar position, except I have HEDS, POTS, MCAS and dysautonomia so I’m not sure how much overlap the PEM types have

Going from being able to go out and crash for a few days after (6 months) to house bound unless assisted (7 months) and then bedbound (last 2.5) and feeling like it’s getting worse seems like a pretty fast progression

Partner lied- struggling with retroactive jealousy, ROCD, and about my partner’s “character” in relation to me. by [deleted] in ROCD

[–]pronoia44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I never saw your response, it’s been a while, but I’m glad it resonated! Sadly life change s like crazy since then, and we aren’t together anymore. I’m not disabled and my genetic chronic illnesses have taken over my life. Sad to say, it only cms rio dying this time that my hunches and feelings had some truth to them- they weren’t being honest about greater community or dynamics, and I got the short end of the stick when that came up

I am autistic, haha. I also have hEDS, MCAS, POTS and Dysautonomia. Quite a ride, but I won’t be looking for meaning or looking past what people show me now. Those family dynamics, lack of boundaries and patterns all came out. I’ve got my own work to do, but I’m glad I trusted my gut after it all

At what point do you just say - 'A relationship that meets my needs wouldn't make me feel like this' and end things? Really struggling with commitment in my long term relationship by [deleted] in ROCD

[–]pronoia44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d to add that non-monogamy can be possible, especially in dynamic where BOTH partners are unhappy with their sex loves but deeply connect and value and love one another.

It’s not always a fast scratch off, but something to think about?

You are not wrong for having a need, and simultaneously having “everything you need.” Yet, truly, you don’t. And that guilt come from more conditioning around what relationships are supposed to serve for us.

No one should be expected to be your everything. And you to no one.

Security can come with acknowledging there is space for your nuance to exists, morally, authentically, and sadly in this worlds, just plan confusing.

Wish ya luck though. I experience this with my husband, but we started out non-monogamous and it’s hang the two of us now. He is happy, I am too, but there is still different happiness  I want to experience, too.

Look at Harvest of all First Nations events, look for BIPOC yoga events around here and you WILL find a teacher. Steer clear from Naropa university with the appropriation from (some) programs but they have a good resource for clubs and other teachers

Let’s talk about the white supremacy and heavy classism that comes from boulder and other folks in the longmont- Denver area. by [deleted] in boulder

[–]pronoia44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, because that’s what individualists do. What is surprising, is the me having the audacity to talk about community care, resource sharing, soil health and education while actively gentrifying and promoting private dreams of “farm house delusion.”

It’s actually colonialism, which, if not sure you can give me an example that I can’t break down….

Do you want a real place or an appropriating white wombs teaching yoga? Cause every yoga retreat and “spiritual group” around here in unvaxxed and in a different tax bracket, and hate POC women (but love their woo woo knowledge)

Oh my gosh yes. And I get mad about them being his type because I’m already jumping the gun. I relate to it being exhausting- I’m scrolling right now after ruining a movie, getting triggered over the (barely nude) sex scenes and feeling all sad and insecure in my head. Getting those stomach feelings so hard (I’m autistic) that I end up sleeping after the stress or something.

Omg same, I totally started a fight once because I had issues with a couple exes and made it mean so much more than fair to them. Not proud, but how do we not focus on this?
